Bug Out With Your Activism

If you've been on the net for even a short time, chances are you've been exposed to "raising awareness" memes and blasts for this problem or that condition. From anti-bullying to autism to cancer and beyond.

Most of us are aware, and some are awarenessed out. Among us, there are probably a lot of people who are secretly sick of "raising awareness" memes, but too afraid to speak up for fear of offending somebody.

And it certainly happens. You risk getting chewed out for daring to show your dislike of any kind of meme out there. If you express annoyance with an awareness meme, you are likely to get very angry activists hyped up on adrenalin for their pet cause(s) screaming accusations at you about how you're such an uncaring person and the like. The biggest mind trick memes play is managing to get people spamming them all over the net, without even realizing they are spamming.

Why should we continue suffering these barrages in silence?

Making us aware with each meme doesn't fix anything. It only puts a damper on one's day.
