Andy, I'm a huge Conservative and I agree with you. I see great hypocrisy in the actions of Femen, etc. where some of the same voices who decry colonialism/imperialism/whateverism regarding the West's military actions are all too willing to support a forced code of "human rights", particularly if said rights promote a laxer western moral code over a more rigid, theological set of strictures (e.g. Islam). The natural reaction is revolt, particularly when the voices are those of privileged outsiders who deign to tell the "oppressed" that they're wrong for their heartfelt beliefs.
I also find it amusing that these women clothe themselves (pun intended) in a self-righteous morality while flaunting their immoral ways (open sexuality, defiance of law, even foul language).
This is the Kony 2012 mentality - strike a blow against human rights violations by wearing a t-shirt with a slogan, or by painting a slogan on your knockers.

Please. It's easy to do this in a country that tolerates immorality and even lionizes immoral behavior in many cases. Go to Saudi Arabia or Libya or Yemen and stand on the street corner bare breasted. It's really brave for women of privilege to pull this in Copenhagen or Munich for 20 minutes then rush to the local coffeehouse to pat each other on the back. It's even easier to change your icon to a silly equal sign then post a wimpy message of support in relative anonymity. This is what passes for bravery in our world.

I live in the middle east. I've seen many muslims who use their head scarves only in their home countries and take them off when they leave on trips and holidays.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: There you go, this just shows that the whole tiff they start over dress codes when in western countries is just a needless power-struggle. They know we're all petrified of being thought of as politically incorrect, intolerant, Islamaphobic, and worse, racist. The few "Muslims" who make a big tadoo about it, know it, the liberals also know it, and their game is divide and conquer. They know the Christians are the more easily bullied, so once the liberals finally shut the Christians up completely, do you think they'll continue with their token "tolerance" and acceptance of everything the few very vocal Muslims want? Think again.
