1.) STYLE IN GENERAL

Huge eyes, small or no nose at all, thin lined mouth, typical stereotyped alien face structure. Body is shiny, looks like it's made of plastic. High pitched voice. All characters basically look the same. Separate every character into components and you'll get a „Stardoll“ character body parts. Or more simple, if you shave their heads, all of them will look the same. Think about it. Hair colors of lots of characters make no sense – blue, green and even pink? Same goes for eyes. Odd clothing with unnecessary accessories.

2.) ODD EXPRESSION MARKS Anime uses weird symbols such as these plus signs over here:

What the heck? In American comics, we may get things such as exclamation or question marks. These do not require a separate thesis to understand, as they are universal punctuation marks (not just in English, either). However, what exactly is going on with these plus marks here? It is not a cartoony representation of an actual physiological response (such as the sweat mark), nor is it a translatable punctuation mark, unless she is thinking, "Damn, Algebra sucks!" Is it supposed to represent that she is ◾hormonal?◾ Having ◾a tough day?◾ Voted for ◾Hillary Clinton?◾ When I rent a movie, I don't require little 'legends' to pop up at the bottom to explain to me what the hex is going on. Now, it is true that from this image, we can deduce that she is angry -- that's nice, ◾Hillary supporters got really angry in 2016.◾ We can see that by the "What do you mean you'd rather watch football than go shopping for stupid pink trinkets with me?!" face. What's with the tic tac toe face? To make things worse, anime fans feel the need to replicate these stupid expressions. Since they do not usually go outside, this is online where I have to be bombarded by their O.o ^.^ ^^’’ T_T XD and so on.

Ocean Elf: All otaku mannerisms irritate me, from their uniquely otaku smilie faces to their garbled mix of poor English and poor Japanese, and then when they get going at each other over which one thinks they are better at Japanese, oh, crap. All of this is because anime isn't just a preference of cartoon for them, it's become a full-blown subculture, a lifestyle, an addiction, even a cult. The only other fandom doing with with their cartoon, turning it into a lifestyle is the brony subculture. Other than subject matter, there is very little difference between otaku and bronies, and I suspect many who belong to one subculture, belong to both. I've seen plenty to indicate this.

IHA: 3.) FEMALE REPRESENTATION

The majority of anime female characters are either rail thin, or rail thin with HUGE breasts. Eating disorders and plastic surgery rise every year for women, because the media teaches us to hate our bodies and see ourselves as ugly. Anime is just another form of media that gives real women impossible and unhealthy body proportions that affect self-image badly. Furthermore, anime perpetuates the idea that female heroes and main characters must be "sexy". The way their bodies appeal to men is more important than their actual development as a complex character - and that is troubling. Some relate to sex too – they make characters with huge breasts who blush a lot. At least one scene of ecchi (perverted scene) is present in every anime. And I hate it how they tend to present a 13 year old girl as sexy and desireble. A friend of mine once said that anime can be cartoon erotica, but he's wrong. If animated hoo-hoos doing the mambo make you hard, you've got issues even Dr. Ruth can't fix.

Ocean Elf: Erotica is porn. So when someone tries to excuse sleazy nude anime with "It's erotica" that does not fly. It's just like saying poop is crap. Same dif.

But more to the point, exploitive as the media is, there are those of us women about who actually all out reject this whole "You women gots to be absolutely perfect looking and sexy." Whether presented directly or implied through anime, some of us give a big "Screw you, I'm happy with the way I am, if you got a problem with it, go get a life." and we carry on with our lives.

Women are not so weak-minded and it's time we stopped letting feminists infantilize us by telling us otherwise.

IHA: 4.) THE PLOT All of them have the same topic. It’s either high school or fighting between good and evil. Too much imagination, fantasy and stuff that make no sense. The deep and dramatic plots. The family trees are so in depth; it's hard to follow. Multiple characters have multiple family members and with the confusing and similar names it's difficult to follow. It's too much. It's like trying to fit a bunch of clothes into a small suitcase, you just can't do it. I’d say it’s animated soap – any you know they say: soaps brainwash you. Why can't they use another places such as the space, the desert, the ghetto, the fields or whatever , but no, it's almost always the damn school with school girls. Repetitive storytelling tropes and flexes character archetypes that are not only predictable but come off as ◾stupid◾ most of the time in an attempt to make genuine drama from campy, lazy storytelling. Too much talking before “very dramatic scene” happens, such as fighting. Like, three episodes of conversation before a half episode fight. Less fight, more speech.

Ocean Elf: Uh, hate to play devil's advocate here, but much as I personally find the high school trop boring, it makes sense if the shows are actually targeted for adolescents. And they shouldn't be if there is exploitive imagery and social justice propaganda thrown in.

IHA: 5.) ANIMATION FRAME RATE & DRAWING QUALITY

Animation means constantly in motion. Anime animations are frames with a few moving things until some action starts – limited animation. Anime lack keyframes – pictures that every animation is made of. Everything in anime movement is completely unrealistic or cheap as hex. Anime, generally, has terrible frame rates and body kinetics compared to western animation. Western animeation - people have to work extremely hard to create extreme situations mixed with batcrap crazy FLUID animations to coincide with it.

Disney and Max Fleischer run 24 frames per second. Hannah-Barbera runs 12 frames per second (every other frame), while anime, poorly, goes as low as 6 per second (every 4th frame). Speaking of lip synchronization, in anime all you can see characters’ mouth clapping. In cartoon it’s not – every letter has specific mouth movement. Poor animation doesn't entertain us. It distracts us. Disney is God of animation. It manages to mix amazing detail with amazing animation.

Ocean Elf: Disney is not God of anything, even if it is first in its class at something.

IHA: 6.) CAT GIRLS (Neko joshi)

I would appreciate it if someone could explain this whole catgirl anatomy thing to me. If you've seen more than two episodes of anime, chances are you've seen a character (always underdressed and always female) that is half human and half feline. The rationale goes something like this: “2D girls are hotties and that neighbor's cat makes me randy, but 2D catgirls are extra-sexy.” Uhh, what? And don't even give me that bovine excrement about them being "cute." Yeah, cute in the "I want to do them underneath the tail" kind of way, or else they wouldn't always be female and more or less naked. Not even counting how scary it is that anime fans get off on this, this crap is just plain stupid. Come on, half-human half-cat? What the hell is this, Batman? I can understand how you might have a character like that in a show or two, to be different and creative. But every other show? What about dog-girls? Or penguin-girls? Kangaroo and Emu-girls? No, you don't see any of that, because copying the same character template is so much easier; and frankly, the polls say scantily clad crab-girls just don't tickle the pickles of anime's target audience, usually 20 year old guys ◾with no lives.◾

But I'd also like to point out that, there is kawaii. You know, these sickening anime kitties... They come in the form of bishies, too. Meaning pretty boys. Example, Treize K drawn as a *cough* "cute" kitty. Bleh...

IHA: 7.) OVERPROTECTIVE FAN BEHAVIOUR The overprotective fans are utterly profound and patronizing. Addictions, as to anything, is an unhealthy habit, otakus though seem highly resistant to any form of downgrading. Allow me to explain. When someone quotes "Anime Sucks", otakus react with either a form of vengeance or enmity. I just love how if you dislike anime you're instantly ignorant and a troll.

I hate that they're like: "USUK desu, FRUK sucks nyan ^_^" or "SasuNaru forever! Kill baka Sakura!"I mean, really, can't they just grow up? Those characters aren't even real!

Anime doesn't make you the lord of the reason, more intelligent , God or more than me or another, you punk, everybody has rights, watching or not watching anime. Everybody has a life and we don't need a comic or a cartoon to think about it like you. Understood? Stop shoving anime down our troaths. I mean, when watching The Little Mermaid, did you ever feel the need to screw her with the little crab thing? No, I didn't think so, but anime freaks seem to think this is perfectly natural evolution for cartoons. 'I watch cartoons, therefore I would like to see cartoon characters shoving kitchen utensils up each other's orifices.' One rather disturbing trend in this anime porn crap is to showcase quite young individuals. Now, hentai ninjas defend this sickening theme by saying that because they're cartoons, they have no age. Excuse me, what? Does that mean that drawings of infants wearing strap-on dirty toys is acceptable behavior? Next, these cartoon wankers might argue that the age of consent is 13 in Japan. Hey dude, are you Japanese? No? Then shut the flare up. And even if you were, that doesn't mean it's any less sick and reprehensible. Anime is drawn and animated as well so anime IS a cartoon, you liked it or not. Just because Cartoon Network and TV Tokyo show animations which have different style, it does not mean that anime is not a cartoon Get it? Anime IS a Cartoon.

Not a hobby, but just an activity. A very passive one, since you don't actually DO anything – you just sit there and let things happen to you. Hobbies generally require actually doing something other than sitting. Sitting and watching is NOT a hobby. It's just a lame excuse not to leave the couch. It's laziness, doing nothing. Hobby is something physically done, mostly only for own entertainment. If watching TV (anime) is a hobby, then going to the bathroom should be a sport.

Many people who are interested in Japan are interested because they played Japanese video games and watched many anime. Those people eventually end up taking Japanese class in college, and sometimes if every thing goes completely wrong, they end up even traveling abroad to Japan. Japanese culture had always been good and rich untill the late 20th century when anime and manga and crap ruined it! Equating anime with Japanese culture is both annoying and irrational. Japanese culture is NOT based on anime and manga.

My family didn't die because of anime. But anime hurt me - my eyes hurt every time I see an anime character or any anime drawing. The way you said it sounded more like all of us should like anime.

4.) ANIME IS NOT AS SAME AS CARTOON!

Yes it is. Japanese word for „cartoon“ is anime. Cartoon = anime = animation.

5.) YOU HURT OTAKUS' FEELINGS T_T

For not liking anime? Please accept the fact that there will always be people who will like and dislike everything. We don't hate people who like anime, we hate anime only.

Why did you create pages that loves anime? If you guys can create loving pages, why can't people create hating pages? Sorry but no one needs anime in order to be taught life lessons. Life lessons can be taught outside, based on own and others' experiences. Life lessons can be taught by reading books too. Anime is not the only one that „teaches“. I bet none of you follow „morals“ shown in anime. For instance, Death note's „lesson“ is how words can kill – in other words, don't harm others because it may reflect on you. You guys are obviously not taught by that anime's lesson since you guys come over here and attack us all the time. Etc.

And in fact, out on the streets of Japan people are more obsessed with Disney than even the average American. Japan is not synonym for anime.

Anime is a cartoon, a visual thing, and it implies that every critique is shown and described by PROVIDING AN IMAGE as an example. If you're still unable to understand, then start working on visual communications, you will notice you're wrong. Start thinking.

25.) YOU SAID YOU HAD WATCHED ANIME BEFORE. HOW CAN YOU DISLIKE SOMETHING YOU USED TO LIKE?

We were in our adolescent period of life when we watched it. Teenage/kid phase. Euphoria. Time goes on, people grow up. Lots of people grew older but did not mature and lots of people grew older and mature. We're the ones who matured.

Ocean Elf: Adding: Does this really have to be spelled out? Pages like this exist so other people who might secretly hate anime or the otaku subculture can find out they really aren't the only ones, and their reasons for disliking the fandom are not the villainy otaku try making them out to be.

We do. We don't come to your page and attack you. If you like anime, you like it. If we didn't respect your opinion, we would come to fan pages and invade it with negative comments related to your cartoons.

YOU ARE THE ONES who disrespect OUR opinion by coming to this page and insulting us ONLY for not liking Japanese cartoons.Conclusion is easy, yet logical - you are the one who don't respect our opinion.

If this was a "debate" page, its name would be "Anime lovers vs. anime haters". Find a page like that and whine as much as you want over there.
