Sending chain letters is not keeping in touch. I've literally stopped writing people who started sending me forwards! I don't want to get the same stupid old jokes over and over again, and believe me, that happens. When a joke or viral video is trending, that means you'll get it not just from one friend, but several, including any number of strangers on an email list, blogs, web forums, social networks etc. And no, I don't send forwarded emails of any kind...

2. Some of us have gotten these same jokes far too many times from other people than we care to count.
3. Some of us are just...so...freaking...sick...of...it!
I'm not fake like these chain letters, I'm not putting on a fake happy face just to make people who get snowed by these forwards think they have just done something absolutely wonderful and made my day with this spam because it is the exact opposite!
A lot of newbies get fooled by this forward and by others that claim to "brighten someone's day" and blahblahblah. I was there once too. I've learned better.
If you really want to be a best friend and give smiles out, make a real effort and write some actual communication instead!
