booed or Ghosted with boo bags
It's all about paying it forward, therefore, a Huge Halloween chain letter. The hook here is "It's for fun!" I would agree, if it was without the chain letter element.
The idea is to make up treat bags with ghost pictures and poems such as the ones shown here that are found on the links above, fill the bag with candy and other goodies, double this because the idea is to forward this to two houses, go to the two houses with bags of treats and poems when it's dark, ring the doorbell after leaving the bag on the step and run away.
Then the cycle supposedly carries on with them, ghosting and booing two other houses.
Wouldn't it be funny if the boo/ghosters got their own stuff back? It could happen.

Fill a bag with candy and treats. Drop in this letter and the ghost and repeat!
Don't forget to hang this Ghost upon your front door, if you forget, well, you might get more!
Now wait until the sun goes down and sneak to their porch, looking around!
Set the bag down and ring the door bell, then get run away fast and never tell!
They'll open the door and find a treat, watch the smile on their face, it's really quite sweet!
Do this when it's dark and kids, go with an adult. Leave it on the porch, ring the door bell and run! The object is to not let anyone know who is Ghosting each other, for fun!

I sure won't complain if you want to leave me treats, and if I don't put up a ghosting sign showing my house has been hit, I don't mind getting more, but if you want to ghost me, leave out the bit telling me to ghost two more neighbours. Do them yourselves if you want to, but I'm breaking this relatively new chain letter trend tradition. The act of ghosting would be fun if it wasn't for the urging to ghost two more houses. Because of the chain letter aspect of this idea, it doesn't stand a ghost of a chance with me.
