30 Things A Woman should Know By 30

AKA What Every Woman Should Know She Should Have

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf:This viral list war started with Pamela Redmond Satran's 30 Things listThe differences between Pamela's original list and this chain letter mutation is in the way it is written. The ripped off version starts every item with "a woman should have" where as Redmond's simply lists everything without all the repetition. The chain mutation talks about "she" and "her" but Redmond's list addresses the readers as "you" in a more personal style.

The rip-off talks about the "date" rather than the "man" of her/your dreams.

The rip-off talks about leaving her youth "behind" and Redmond's list talks about looking beyond your youth. Both are fixated on gender, though, which is no surprise.

The original list was promoted by NBC, which has a terrible liberal bias, so naturally is sympathetic to feminism. Yes. They promoted a chain letter.

Then, In 2012, KAYLA WEBLEY came up with her own list that is definitely mangle-worthy, and may go viral if it hasn't already. Her list only went to 15.

So, let's counter these lists with a different point of view altogether.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Aargh! Okay, this swill's goin' down!

--

🙎‍♀️Meme: Every Woman Should Know What A Woman Should Have

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Duh, every human should know what a human should have, and that "should have" should also remain a subjective variable to a large degree. Because what I should have and what you should have are going to differ, whether we are the same gender or not.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Exactly! Sheesh, I can tell where THIS one is going...

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Yeah, ditto for a man - everybody should have that. Security and survival and all that, ya know.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Indeed! What, is this some sort of woman-power thing? If so...well, put it this way: I'm not impressed.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: From here, this chain mostly rips off items from Pamela Redmond Satran's 30 Things list🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: By 30, you should have:

🙎‍♀️Meme: A woman should have

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: One old boyfriend you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you’ve come.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Bleck! Must have two boyfriends by 30? Uh, no thanks! sure, some girls do this, and a lot of them tend to go through a boyfriend a year, and personally I find their company extremely boring as they tend to contact you every time a change is happening in that department. You're listening to them talking about their latest boyfriend and what a total dreamboat he is, and thinking to yourself, "yeah, I've heard that before, with the last one and the one before that…"

But my life is good without a boyfriend or husband. I'm just not cut out for romance and marriage, at least, definitely not yet.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: By 30, it’s perfectly O.K. if all you have is …

1. One old boyfriend you may always drunk-text, and one who you really should avoid but continue to drunk-text.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Ugh! No, in my opinion, that is not okay. Drunk-diling, drunk-texting, getting drunk in the first place is not okay, and is no excuse to make an obnoxious idiot of oneself, especially to an ex-bf.

It is perfectly okay to have never consumed booze or had a romantic relationship, even by the time you're 30.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.

🙎‍♀️Meme: a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: As long as it's a good piece of furniture and it's comfortable to me, I don't give even a shadow of a care if it was owned by anyone else, in or not in my family… I'm just not all hung up on status and saying "This is MINE FIRST!"

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: MY PRECIOUS! My precious, precious furniture, my lovely precious...See how creepy-obsessive you're acting over a piece of furniture? What's it matter as long as it's comfy and not falling apart?

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Lol!

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 2. A home filled with disintegrating items from Ikea. Progress would be graduating from Fjellse to Aspelund.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Or some obscure brand that's somehow better quality and holds up better, and you didn't pay a high price for the name.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: Something perfect to wear if the employer or

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: man

🙎‍♀️Meme: date

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: of

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: your

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: dreams wants to see

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: in an hour.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Well, I want to look decent, naturally, but I'm just not into "perfect" especially since that is so subject. what might be perfect to you might not be so much as noticed by your dream man or your employer. And - some of us just aren't interested in dating. I highly doubt your date will dump you or your employer will sack you over dress unless you do something really stupid like go in your birthday suit.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: *rolls eyes* Oh, gimme a bucket! So, you assume most females are hopelessly vain? Guess what, pally- I don't obsess over have just the perfect outfit, because there are- Gasp! More important things in life than outfits! Like, totally imagine that!

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 3. One item of clothing that — today — you don’t totally hate. Tomorrow, all bets are off.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: No, have enough to wear that is comfortable and not trendy or out of style, and is never likely to go out of style so you can wear them until they wear out.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: A purse, a suitcase and an umbrella you’re not ashamed to be seen carrying.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I'm not ashamed of any of those things, why would anyone be? A suitcase is something practical that only gets used once in a while, for storing what you need on vacation, it's not a status symbol or meant to make you look pretty. an umbrella - well, some people like them, I find them cumbersome and prefer a raincoat. A purse? Only when I absolutely have to use one. That's when my pants and coat pockets can't carry what I need with me on some outing. Otherwise, the less I have to toat around the better. I'm just not a purse person.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 4. A comfy pair of jeans that you feel great in, everyone else be damned. (Shouldn’t the self-assured 30-year-old whom Glamour writes about not give a damn about what people think of her purse, suitcase or umbrella?)

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: It's all pretty oxymoronic, really. Isn't the whole point of glamour to get people wanting to change their image to a more, well, glammourous one?

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: A youth

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you’re content to move beyond.

🙎‍♀️Meme: she’s content to leave behind….

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Uh, hello? Anyone home? That's part of growing up, stupid!

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Ditto for anybody, not just women.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 5. A youth you have no plans to put behind you. As a result, you will throw yourself a 29th-birthday party with a purposefully juvenile theme including beer pong and Jell-O shots.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Um I haven't heard of those. But there is being young at heart, and there is being juvenile. Let's not confuse the two. Young at heart is just fine. Things shouldn't be off limits for enjoyment by adults just because they are marketed as for kids, or as kid-friendly.

But moving out of youth emotionally is a very good thing.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: A past juicy enough that

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you’re

🙎‍♀️Meme: she’s

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: looking forward to retelling it in

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: your

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: old age.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Yeesh, I don't WANT a juicy past! Not exactly something to brag about...

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Please, let's not confuse 'juicy' with 'interesting' or 'inspirational' or even 'successful. I don't have a 'juicy' past and I'm proud of that.

Between the chain letter mutation and the original list concerning these last two, the original list wins out. Unlike the chain letter version, Pamela does not contradict herself. She suggests looking beyond, rather than leaving behind your youth, which doesn't cancel out retelling of your juicy past in your old age.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 6. A past weekend juicy enough to tell your friends about once all the memories come back to you.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: *Scowl* No, no, no - NO! Not safe, not smart, not funny, not cool, not at all!

No drunk-dialing, no juicy past, no juicy weekends where you get too sloshed to remember.

I'm going to live my life without that sort of behaviour, and I will remember the good times the best I can, and know I won't have anything juicy to be ashamed of.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: The realization that you are actually going to have an old age—and some money set aside to help fund it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Good idea - for everyone regardless of gender.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 7. The realization that you actually want to take a vacation this year and should probably stop buying clothes so you can set aside money to fund it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: How about only buying clothes when you really need to instead? Believe it or not, people, there are some of us around who don't spend all our money on tons of unneeded clothes and shoes. The ones we get are necessary, and the sort that won't go out of style in 6 months.

I have reasons to skip vacations and save my money for other things that will last a lot longer anyway.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: An e-mail address, a voice mailbox and a bank account—all of which nobody has access to but you.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Yes, good things, for every adult, regardless of gender.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 8. An e-mail address overflowing with messages you should reply to, and a love-hate relationship with your bank account that fluctuates on the basis of how close it is to payday.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: No love-hate with the bank account, but yes on the email address. Rather, I have a lot of messages with links that need to be checked out or put into some of my articles.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: A résumé that is not even the slightest bit padded.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean a resume that doesn't have a long list of references, indicating a history of not being able to keep a job for long?

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 9. A résumé.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Yup.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: One friend who always makes

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: laugh and one who lets

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: cry.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: H'm! Lets her cry, eh? What if you don't cry all that much? What if your friends aren't all that funny? You can't squish friends into these weirdo cookie cutters!

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: If you're prepared to be that friend to the next person, sure. But some people don't unload on their friends, still others seem okay with not having friends.

Well, I am quite a laughy person, and rarely cry. But there are women who don't laugh, and don't want anyone trying to make them laugh. A friend who "lets" you cry? That sounds as if this friend has to give you permission to cry. Any crying I do, I prefer to do in private so it's pretty embarrassing when it happens in front of anyone. I just don't like the feeling of losing control in front of anyone, especially family and friends.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 10. Friends who are just as confused and overwhelmed as you are, but who will happily commiserate any day of the week.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: overwhelmed and confused? I pretty much left that state behind along with my youth.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 11. A roommate who will come into your room and kill a gross-looking bug while you cry and scream in the corner. (You can hire someone with power tools when you need them.)

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Hahahahahahaha! I have no problem killing the bugs myself. The only ones that frighten me are bees, wasps, hornets and things of that ilk.

If you can see what you're doing, you probably shouldn't have too much difficulty using power tools as a woman.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill and a black lace bra.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: OKAY, awkwardness level just went up. I don't want to know what kind of bra anyone else is wearing and I'm sure as heck not going to tell anyone about mine!

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I'll grant you the screwdrivers and drill, but what kind of bra I wear is up to me and nobody's business. It isn't worn for other people to see.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: When it comes to deserving it, really, price tag shouldn't matter. Save the really expensive purchase for practical reasons. Sure, you should want whatever it is you're about to buy that is going to take a chunk out of your bank account, but - well, I'll spend $500 on something music or electronics related instead of seriously splurging it on an insanely expensive dress or pair of shoes, when I can get a dress and pair of shoes for a fraction of that price that still look good and are comfortable.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 12. Something ridiculously overpriced you are still paying off your credit card for.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Meh. It's one thing when you have to pay a bit more for something you really need and want, for your own reasons other than "Look at me, I got this cool new way expensive doodad, wow am I hot or what!?"

There's always something very practical to any really expensive thing I might eventually have to buy. Whatever it is, better be worth it, and last me through the long haul.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: The belief that you deserve it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Would this convince you?

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 13. The belief that you will one day pay off all your debt — even as you continue to accrue it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Even better is if you can manage not to get into debt.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine and a plan for dealing with those

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Bleck! Scrap that, I have other, more interesting things to do with my time.

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 14. A gym membership and some slightly-better-than-drugstore-brand moisturizer.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Bleck. Scrap the gym. I don't use lotion very often, when I do, it has to smell great.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE eight matching plates, wine this shouldn't be considered just a woman's thing.glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Recipes are easy enough to find on the net. I'm not going to serve guests leftovers, but neither should I be expected to make something just to put on some show of what a wonderful host I can be. You can make the most time-consuming, complicated gourmet meal, and there is going to be somebody there who doesn't care for it. It all comes down to personal taste.

I'm more the type to go out to eat anyway.

Wine glasses, no thanks. Not into that. I don't drink it so have no need for it in the house.

Yeah, you need a set of dishes for serving guests, but paper plates do nicely if it's a summer time barbecue. I'm just not the "Oh, look how I can impress all of you!" type. If somebody's too uppity to appreciate a casual, informal gathering of family and friends and doesn't think my real dishes at a sit-down dinner in winter, or paper plates at a summer barbecue are posh enough, they can go ahead and pass on by.

I have no plans to put on a lavish spread for anyone in the forseeable future anyway. People have their own hectic schedules, and nowadays large get-togethers usually centre around some kind of special occasion, not just for the heck of it.

also, men can host too.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Here, here! One, I don't drink anything alcoholic, so pass on the wine, don't really see why I need the stemmed glasses, and why all this fuss over a meal? I understand wanting to make your guests happy, but you shouldn't work yourself into a tizzy over it. Besides, if these are decent people, they won't want you breaking your back over 'em!

🧘‍♀️KAYLA WEBLEY: 15. A job that allows you to pay your rent and maintain satisfying relationships. All of them.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf:A job is definitely good. But paying for relationships - huh? I don't get it.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I disagree. I also don't like the idea of looking for such things, as if, woops, after 30, it's the end of the road for you concerning, whatever these "facets" might be. No, don't give me that.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship and all those other facets of life that do get better. By 30, you should know:

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I disagree. You've just told people that after 30, if they haven't already got a satisfactory job and relationship, it's all downhill from there.

Rubbish.

There are so many variables that go into life that - aw, skip it. This is already becoming a thesis.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: How to fall in love without losing

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: yourself.

🙎‍♀️Meme: herself…

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: *to the rip-off artist* *headdesk* Gaaagghh...don't you even talk about love. You don't have half enough brain cells to comprehend it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: @BP, Here, here! To the viral statement, this love stuff goes for everyone, including men - if and when they do… But some people, men and women alike, don't get this, and don't care if they lose themselves when "in love" Some people act as if they think losing yourself is the whole point.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: How you feel about having kids.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Actually, women need to be clear on that especially concerning themselves, their circumstances and their own bodies long before 30. It might help prevent a lot of unexpected pregnancies.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Everyone, not just women! Gah, this IS a stupid she-power chain. *scowl*

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: How to quit a job, break up with a

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: man

🙎‍♀️Meme: lover,

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Everyone, not just every woman… But these things are far from easy… And not everyone has a lover or wants one in the first place. Not everyone can get a job - some people are too sick or disabled to work. And sadly, some people don't have friends, though at least a few of those seem to prefer it that way.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Hel-lo!? Everyone, not just every woman!

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: When to try harder and when to walk away.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: *to anonymous rip-off artist* What, and should men just do one or the other? *scoffs* Yeah right!

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Lol!

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Eww, TMI. Suggesting the author apparently knows all about this? Ahem ugh. That was a bit more than I wanted to know.

Yeah, *cough* really, you don't have to be a great kisser at 30 or before 30, or after 30. Not if you don't want to be.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best tailor in town.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Uh, somehow I managed to survive my life so far without knowing any of these.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: *Headdesk* Does it really need repeating?

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: How to live alone, even if

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you don’t like to.

🙎‍♀️Meme: she doesn’t like it…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Practical for anyone who can and has the means to manage it, woman or man. and I would like it… Believe it or not, there *are* women who do not require or even want someone else around them all the time. The media is absolutely terrible for not presenting the image of single women as actually being *gasp* happy!

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: *to rip-off artist* Isn't that part of growing up? You seem to think we're all stuck as mental twelve year-olds.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Yes, sheesh, that's the problem with gender-related chain letters. The way they portray women as these needy saps who just can't survive on their own or else absolutely hate having to be apart from their crush or their "sisters" Almost as if every little show of independence and free will on the part of a woman is deserving of the greatest admiration and thunderous applause and endless pats on the back! Give - me - a - dang - break!

I'm sure the real author didn't mean it that way. But there are so many whinging chain letters about girls who are crushed by some jerk jilting them because they are so codependent and needing either their guy or their chain letter "sisters" and shouldn't be left alone for one minute lest they die of heartbreak.

You get those, plus this particular list circulating without giving due credit, and worse, attributing it to the wrong person (Jesse Jackson, and that kissing thing? UGH, eww!) Anyway, it just doesn't seem to dispel the bad stereotypes of what women are believed to be or what people think they should be.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: How to take control of your own birthday.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Huh? There are things about that you just can't always control, like, planning the party, but you can't control who's all going to be there. There's sure to be somebody who won't be able to make it.

🙎‍♀️Meme: A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE a feeling of control over her destiny…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Any adult should have at least some control over their own life. But sheesh, this "destiny" stuff, just knock it off.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Rrrgg...okay, first thing's first: destiny is, by definition, something you can't control. Therefore, controlling your destiny would create horrible universe ending paradoxes. But you aren't exactly a very deep thinker, so I'll leave it at that. Two, EVERYONE should have a feeling of control, not just women.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran:&🙎‍♀️Meme: That

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you

🙎‍♀️Meme: she

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: can’t change the length of

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: your

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: calves, the width of

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: your

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: hips or the nature of

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: your

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: parents.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Oh, gimme a break! Get over appearances!

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Who in their right mind believes you can change the length of their thighs, hip shape etc? The whole notion is utterly ridiculous. You're built a certain way. I'm not going to suddenly go from short and sassy to tall and lanky. Neither is some other woman going to shorten her height from 5/9 to 5/5, which is what would happen if you shortened your calves, which means you'd have to shorten your whole leg structure, bones and all. Besides, it's time to stop obsessing about appearance.

Yeah, it's hard not being able to change the nature of some people, whether they are one's parents or any other. By the same token, there are no doubt, people who have to learn they can't change yours or my nature as well.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: That

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: your

🙎‍♀️Meme: her

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: childhood may not have been perfect, … but it’s over.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Same for every man…

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: What, so do guys stay children forever?

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: What

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you
🙎‍♀️Meme: she

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: would and wouldn’t do for

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: money or love.

🙎‍♀️Meme: love or more…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Ditto for every man. That is, if they fall in love, and some of us, women or men, just aren't looking for that, you know. I noticed the anonymous chain mutation replaced "money" with "more. More what?

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Or more? Ah, lemme guess, you're one of those morons who thinks love needs to be *ahem* consummated? I'm really sick of your type. Seriously. If I met you on the street, I'd probably punch you. In the face.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: No kidding! Ewwwww! Hadn't thought of that! And that was to the anonymous schmuck who thought it was cool to strip Pamel of credit and change some of the wording on her article, turning it into a viral.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Hehe, true.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Ditto for every PERSON.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: Who you

🙎‍♀️Meme: whom she

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: can trust,

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: who you

🙎‍♀️Meme: whom she

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: can’t and why

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: you

🙎‍♀️Meme: she

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran & 🙎‍♀️Meme: shouldn’t take it personally.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: *exasperated sigh* Same goes for guys too! B'sides, some people are rotten to the core and gain your trust only to stab you in the back. And then there are the people you never would have thought capable of such loyalty...in short, people are complicated. Deal with it.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: It doesn't matter if you're a girl or a guy, the fact is, you'll never know 100% of the time who you can trust, no matter how old you get, because sometimes people you never would've dreamed would betray you, can turn out to be the least trustworthy.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: No crap! But some people never get to that point, and then, there are the people who apologize and are fake about it because the something eventually turns out to be their fault. :p And then there are those who apologize just to get you falling over yourself to give them attention by way of endless reassurances and ego-strokes they are addicted to getting and it gets really tiresome dealing with these types. "Oh, I'm soooo sooooooorry if I called at a bad time, if you're busy, did I interrupt you?" No, you didn't, if I was too busy to talk, I would just let you know! If you are always convinced you are calling at a bad time, why call just to give me an earful of ridiculous apologizing just to get me to go "No, my dear, it's perfectly fine, darling, you're ALWAYS welcome to call me at ANY TIME! I'm hear for you 24/7!"? Forget that "I'm sorry about that chain letter, I emailedd you by mistake." Well it's NOT okay! First, you sent me a lousy chain letter, and now by your 'apology' you just told me you'd rather go on sending stupid chain letters to everybody else instead of sending me anything in the way of a non-apologetic personal note! "I'm soooooo sorrrrry I didn't reply to your last email!" Oh, can it! I've gone way past my quota of "That's okay,I understand, it's not your fault" etc. It's gone into the negative numbers and I refuse to coddle fake apologizers any longer.

🚶‍♀️Pamela Redmond Satran: Why they say life begins at 30.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I thought the expression was "Life begins at 40" ? Oh well, I guess even that varies.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW where to go…be it to her best friend’s kitchen table, or a charming Inn in the woods, when her soul needs soothing….

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: You really need to stop stating the obvious...EVERYONE needs a recharge place.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Every PERSON! And yes I have a few places or things to turn to for that.

🙎‍♀️Meme: EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW what she can and can’t accomplish in a day…a month…and a year…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Even a month is stretching it. But a year? Nobody, woman or man, really knows what they can accomplish in that length of time or what the future will hold.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: H'm! Can see into the future now, can we? Sure, we make lofty goals, but if you don't at least attempt them, yeah, you won't get spit done.

🙎‍♀️Meme: Share this with EVERY WOMAN YOU KNOW.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: In other words, "Pass this "Because you're a woman, you should be expected or entitled to all these things" chain letter around.

Nothing doing.

Though people of both genders are welcome to read a different perspective from this mangle.

🤦🏽‍♀️BP: Exactly! This thing isn't getting spread anywhere, so long as I can do something about it.

🧝‍♀️ 🤦🏽‍♀️ Over and out.
