Here’s a list of all the places where you will not be allowed to wear a poppy

Posted on 15th October 2018 by Simon Harris

💩Simon Harris: I have spent some time compiling a list of all the places where you will not be allowed to wear a poppy this year.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: No, you have spent some time writing out yet another satire lampooning people on the non-left, so that liberals everywhere who read this bollox can go "Hahahahahaha, right-winger satire! Look at those paranoid fools! Jolly good joke, sir, jolly good!" Not sure that was exactly what you intended, but I've seen such reaction to it.

💩Simon Harris: Funnily enough, it’s not very long. In fact, it’s non-existent.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Well duh! You could actually just stop right here.

💩Simon Harris: We have the same pantomime every single year in this country, where the memory of millions who have sadly lost their lives in conflict is overshadowed by the hysteria about poppies somehow being ‘banned’ left, right and centre.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: If memes were banned, that would fix the problem.

💩Simon Harris: People are sick of it. More importantly, even the Royal British Legion themselves are sick of the constant hijacking of this symbol by far-right organisations.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: There you go with this "far-right" stuff again. Look, everyone on the non-left needs to ditch all the memes...Every - last - one... But it doesn't take much for a liberal to label somebody as "far-right. If you're not left, you're "far-right. And those who are not far-right, but are non-left need to renounce all trolls, every last one, give up meme addiction, and tell all entities that stir up this kind of hysteria to take a long walk off a short plank.

💩Simon Harris: While there has been media coverage about Cambridge University ‘banning’ official remembrance proceedings, I can assure you that students and staff who choose to wear a poppy will ultimately escape any punishment.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: That's because you can't punish somebody for doing something that isn't actually against the law... I don't know anything about the Cambridge University brouhaha, if there actually was one, I wasn't there...

💩Simon Harris: All historic wars, and especially the Second World War, have now become political footballs that are somehow linked to Brexit, immigration and ❗️ knows what else,

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf:And "anti-bullying", the disabled, and other human rights issues have become political footballs somehow connected to LGBT, feminism, and goodness knows what else...

💩Simon Harris: and it’s time to put a stop to this madness.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: On that, we agree.

💩Simon Harris: Personally, I choose to wear a poppy because my grandfather fought in Burma and could have easily been one of those who never came home – many of his friends did not.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Okay, cool.

💩Simon Harris: However, at the same time, I know people who have made a decision not to wear one, and although I might not always agree with their choice, it’s simply none of my business.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: That's your call.

💩Simon Harris: When you think that World War 2 was literally about fighting against those who were trying to tell people exactly what to do and exactly what to think, it makes the whole concept of ‘poppy rage’ seem even more ridiculous.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Not as ridiculous as the perpetual rage demonstrated by SJW. The poppy rage seems to be more of a scaredy-cat than a rage problem and its participants are annoying, but not to the extremes taken by SJW. I wish they would cut it out, though.

💩Simon Harris: I had a fascinating chat a few years ago with a British veteran who took part in the D-Day landings at Gold Beach in Normandy in June 1944.

He told me about a conversation that he had with one of the other soldiers on the vessel while they were leaping out into the shallow waters and approached the beach with Nazi machine gun bullets shooting past their helmets.

Apparently, he asked him why they were actually doing this and risking their lives.

He replied, ‘It’s quite simple really. In 74 years’ time, British people will be able to use this story to justify leaving the European Union without paying any sort of divorce bill.’

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Excuse me for my disbelief. So now we're going back to the Brexit thing? Look, it's not the end of the world, nor do I believe for a second that some nazi was smart or even psychic enough to make such a prediction.

💩Simon Harris: ‘More importantly, if we can defeat fascism here, these people will also be able to march around, demand that everyone wears a poppy and even promote a whole new era of intolerance.’

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: If you want "intolerance" (another big gun buzzword tossed around by the left), look no further than feminists.

💩Simon Harris: Just stop it. Please.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Yes, just stop!

And for those on the political non-left, stop with the memes...

Over and out.
