The Joke Excuse Meme

"I Care So Much That I Forward Jokes!

Yeah, right… ^^^Articles/ExcusesExcuses.html">Excuses, ^^^Articles/Bad4.html">excuses…

A lot of people have been emotionally sucker-punched by this thing into spreading it, and giving themselves the means to excuse their bad habit of spreading memes, while implying that if you don't just sit and keep quiet and be ever so grateful for seeing meme after meme after meme, however many times, that you are not accepting their "caring" about you.

This glurge full of gushing excuses for replicating spammy memes often comes with a short story that precedes it, such as the ^^^Fluf/DeadDogIsADeadMansBestFriend.html">Dead Dog story.

🙃😏😼Memes: This Explains Why I Forward Jokes

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: No. It's just a pile of vapid excuses that doesn't explain or make this behaviour acceptable.

🙃Meme1: Soooo…

😏Meme2: Sooo…

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: You're gearing up to say something you think is mega awesome, but I'll punch holes in it.

🙃😏😼Memes: Sometimes, we wonder why

😏Meme2: best

🙃😏😼Memes: friends keep

🙃Meme1: forwarding

😏Meme2: sending

🙃Meme1: jokes

😏Meme2: funny email forwards

🙃😏😼Memes: to us without writing a word,.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: And we wonder why the heck they ever got internet access if that's all they can be bothered to do.

🙃😏😼Memes: maybe this

🙃Meme1: could

😏Meme2: will

🙃😏😼Memes: explain

😏Meme2: why.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: An explanation however weak and contrived is not going to cut it. There's no excuse for being thoughtless, inconsiderate, and just plain lazy with communication to the point where you'd think I'd be satisfied just to get the same crud everyone else gets whenever some dumb viral joke infestation has hit the net again..

🙃😏😼Memes: When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch,

😏Meme2: with your best friend,

🙃😏😼Memes: guess what you do?

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Guess what I don't do, you mean…

🙃😏😼Memes: You forward

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Nothing. I write my own personal emails! Imagine that!

🙃Meme1: jokes.

😏Meme2: funny emails.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: That's no excuse. Those "funny emails" and "jokes" you send are chain letters.

Sending chain letters is not keeping in touch. I've literally stopped writing people who started sending me forwards! I don't want to get the same stupid old jokes over and over again, and believe me, that happens. When a joke or viral video is trending, that means you'll get it not just from one friend, but several, including any number of strangers on an email list, blogs, web forums, social networks etc. And no, I don't send forwarded emails of any kind...

🙃😏😼Memes: When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep contact,

😏Meme2: with your best friend,

🙃😏😼Memes: you forward

🙃Meme1: jokes.

😏Meme2: funny emails.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Having nothing to say but wanting to keep in contact is the same as wanting to stay in touch. Redundant much? However you put it, it's no excuse to send junk when a simple type-written personal "Hey, what's up?" is real and means a lot more! It doesn't have to be a long message, just a "Hey Capri, I've been thinking of you lately, how are you doing?" or even "I miss you." goes infinitely farther in showing me you care than getting some crappy forward. Yes, I said crappy…

🙃😏😼Memes: When you have something to say,

😏Meme2: to your best friend,

🙃😏😼Memes: but don’t know what, and don’t know how,

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: It won't kill you to use that blob of gray matter sitting atop your shoulders to think of something to say and how to say it. If you really, and I mean REALLY want to stay in touch with your friends, you'll make the effort.

🙃😏😼Memes: you forward

🙃Meme1: jokes.

😏Meme2: funny emails.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I don't, and I won't accept forwards in place of something actually written by you.

I'd even be glad for the occasional thing you find on the net, on your own - that wasn't forwarded to you and that you didn't get off a joke, fluff, "inspirational" site! Something out of the way that you happened on that you think might interest me.

I do NOT want everybody thinking they are keeping in touch with me by sending me the latest viral Youtube video they got from a friend of a friend of a friend's co-worker's uncle's cousin's sister-in-law who got it from likewise up the chain. I want to hear from YOU, not get yet another copy of that stupid dead dog joke, lap-dancing cat video or animated gif of that baby soaring his cute little rocket into that teddybear cloud with a silver lining where angels are swirling above, holding a rainbow halo toss!

🙃Meme1: And

😏Meme2: Also,

🙃😏😼Memes: to let you know that you are still

🙃Meme1: remembered,

😏Meme2: my best friend,

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: You are not going to do that by sending me forwards, including this one with a pile of excuses for spamming my inbox with this junk!

🙃Meme1: you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for,

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Oh, is this where I'm supposed to be reduced to an overcome, overly sentimental, gushing, softened up, blubbing jerk and say "Thank you for all your joke forwards!" ?

Think again!

What a pile of crap!

🙃😏😼Memes: guess

😏Meme2: what,

🙃Meme1: what you get? A forwarded joke.

😏Meme2: you get funny email forwards.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: And guess what YOU get? A very annoyed, frustrated, abandoned-feeling, ticked off me who won't even want to speak to you until I've had time to sufficiently cool off!

Then when you do speak to me, DON'T ask me if I got that forward you thought was so incredibly special and wonder what I thought of it!

Because I will not give you a pat on the back and smiles and giggles and grins, ooes and aws or expressions of amazement, wonder, or sentimentality, or even outrage over the latest political issue, I will not demonstrate whatever emotion the chain created in you to get you passing it along to me and several thousand others in your address book or on the web!

I'll just get mad at you all over again!

If that's your idea of caring and remembering etc. I shudder to think what sort of hell you inflict on people you don't like!

If I really am that important, remembered, cared about and loved, dang it, prove it and send me something from your own heart, from your own mind!

Otherwise, just forget it!

Think about it, and please, think long and hard.

How hard is it to hit the forward button and send these jokes to everybody in your contact list?

It's the easiest thing in the world, and you don't even have to think! The chain letter does all the thinking for you, taking over your mind and emotions long enough for that urge to pass it on sets in, along with the delusion it helps you give yourself about it meaning friendship!

🙃😏😼Memes: So,

🙃Meme1: my friends,

🙃😏😼Memes: next time if you get a

🙃😼Chain1&3: joke,

😏Meme2: funny email from your best friend,

🙃😏😼Memes: don’t think that you’ve been sent just another

🙃Meme1: forwarded joke,

😏Meme2: funny email forward,

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: DON'T TELL *ME* WHAT TO THINK! I know when all people send is virals it means exactly that, they sent me just another viral. It means they couldn't be bothered to take the time and the effort to reach out to me, and I also realize they got manipulated into passing around another copy of something that's already circulating in the millions out there in cyberspace!

🙃😏😼Memes: but that you’ve been thought of today and your

😏Meme2: best

🙃😏😼Memes: friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile.

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: really? You were thinking deeply about each and every contact and you had this burning desire to get in touch and demonstrate you care and you really think this is how it's done and that it passes for caring and doling out smiles?

Well, it doesn't! Especially when you factor in:

1. Not everybody has the same dang sense of humor as you.

2. Some of us have gotten these same jokes far too many times from other people than we care to count.

3. Some of us are just...so...freaking...sick...of...it!

I'm not fake like these chain letters, I'm not putting on a fake happy face just to make people who get snowed by these forwards think they have just done something absolutely wonderful and made my day with this spam because it is the exact opposite!

A lot of newbies get fooled by this forward and by others that claim to "brighten someone's day" and blahblahblah. I was there once too. I've learned better.

If you really want to be a best friend and give smiles out, make a real effort and write some actual communication instead!

😏Meme2: Forward this onto your friends today and let them know you’ve been thinking about them!

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: Oxymoron! With the 'moron' part applying doubly here!

Look, sending on this sap or forwards/re-shares AKA chain letter memes of any stripe, does not equal showing friends you're thinking about them! I know this for a fact, having been the unfortunate recipient of this pretend caring for far too long, and I've even seen headers where people who weren't getting along were included. So don't give me that line!

😏Meme2: Have A Great Day

🧝‍♀️Ocean Elf: I would if people would stop spreading this swill!

Over and out!
