An Islamic glurge about praying on time was posted on this blog
It was put in the category email i should have forwarded which means there are more chain letters in that category, also in these: interesting emails received and junk mail just waiting to be mangled. I've mangled at least two chains from there including this one and the Men Are Happier People viral joke. The one about eating fruit got a mini-mangle on my post about dummy news reports and bogus viral lists of this and that at this link.
π³ββοΈ A Muslim remembered his grandmotherβs warning about praying on time:
π§ββοΈ In our way, any time, early or late, is a good time for prayer, what's most important is that the prayer be sincere and not self-praising.
π³ββοΈ βMy son, you shouldnβt leave prayer to this late timeβ. His grandmotherβs age was 70 but, whenever she heard the Adhan, she got up like an arrow and performed Salah.
π§ββοΈ Beyond having to do with the ritual Islamic daily prayers, I don't know what Salah AKA Salat is, and will probably be looking up a lot more to make much sense out of this.
π³ββοΈ He, however could never win over his ego to get up and pray.
π§ββοΈ Huh? Finding having to just get up on demand every time you're told, tiresome, doesn't make you guilty of too much ego. "You must do this because your religion demands it whether you feel like it or not" just doesn't cut it.
π³ββοΈ Whatever he did, his Salah was always the last to be offered and he prayed it quickly to get it on time.
π§ββοΈ Which suggests he was praying without sincerity. It would be better not to observe the timed prayers at all. Allah may not care about sincerity, but God definitely does. In the Bible, that is why he favored Abel's sacrifice and not Cain's.
π³ββοΈ Thinking of this, he got up and realized that there were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha.
π§ββοΈ Which is their evening or night prayer. Wait, wasn't he already praying?
π³ββοΈ He quickly made Wudhu
π§ββοΈ That's one of their terms for pre-prayer washing. I should test myself on this crash-course when I get through this to see how much I can remember.
π³ββοΈ and performed Salat-ul Maghrib.
π§ββοΈ This is the prayer done around sunset. My goodness, a lot of demanding ritualistic timed stuff goes into this.
π³ββοΈ While making Tasbih,
π§ββοΈ As far as I can make out, this is some sort of chant.
π³ββοΈ he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed. His grandmother prayed with such tranquillity and peace..
π§ββοΈ So she was content doing these rituals, and he wasn't. Okay, I guess. It just isn't for everyone.
π³ββοΈ He began making Dua
π§ββοΈ A "call of supplication to Allah".
π³ββοΈ and went down to make Sajdah
π§ββοΈ Prostrating oneself to Allah - that doesn't sound like much of an ego problem to me. Right. At least God doesn't demand we do that.
π³ββοΈ and stayed like that for a while. He had been at work all day and was tired, very tired.
π§ββοΈ Well then I sure can't blame him for wanting to skip some prayer ritual his religion demands him to do every day whether he feels it and means it at that time or not. Heck I fall asleep during my prayers and they're not even scripted. I just think of all the things I want to express to God, and I don't even like saying "Amen" at the end of those unless it's meal time prayers. Feels too much like hanging up the phone or something. Of course, I can, and do start another prayer after I've said "Amen" but remember something else I meant to say.
π³ββοΈ He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting. He was sweating profusely. He looked around. It was very crowded. Every direction he looked in was filled with people.
π§ββοΈ Sounds like he's having a tumultuous dream.
π³ββοΈ Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting.
π§ββοΈ Doesn't sound like anybody's having much of a good time. Seems pretty fearful, actually.
π³ββοΈ Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was. His heart was about to burst.
π§ββοΈ Yep, guessed right on the mood.
π³ββοΈ It was the Day of Judgment.
π§ββοΈ Oh, come on. Really? He was struck dead boom just like that for not getting through some prayer ritual? I prefer the dream idea.
π³ββοΈ When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the Day of Judgment, but that seemed so long ago. Could this be something his mind made up?No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this.
π§ββοΈ Perhaps not while he was awake, but frightening dreams can and do cause such vivid fears that people have awakened from them in tears or even screaming.
π³ββοΈ The interrogation was still going on. He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called. No one could answer him. All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made a passageway for him.
π§ββοΈI have to wonder, with different people in the world having the same name, how does this work?
π³ββοΈ Two angels grabbed his arms and led him forward.
π§ββοΈ Grabbed? Not exactly gentle, are they?
π³ββοΈ He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd. The angels brought him to the center and left him there. His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie.
π§ββοΈ Maybe it was a movie. At least, this scene sounds like something from a movie.
π³ββοΈ He opened his eyes but saw only another world. The people were all helping others. He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam. His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared.
π§ββοΈ Dandy. Nice break from the fearful scene anyway.
π³ββοΈ He pleaded his case, "I too was always on this path. I helped others.
π§ββοΈ Hey wait a minute - I thought this was about not praying on time, did we go through a door to a wrong set somewhere? For that matter, why aren't any of those people doing the various Muslim prayers? and how does not praying the same thing every day every time on time helping others? eh? When did I become the one asking all the questions?
π³ββοΈ I spread the word of Allah. I performed my Salah. I fasted in the month of Ramadhan." "Whatever Allah ordered us to do, I did." "Whatever he ordered us not to do, I did not." He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah. He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah deserved and his only protector was Allah He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over. His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision.
π§ββοΈ Hey. Where did all the helping people go? I didn't see the door that led back into this fearful scene.
π³ββοΈ At last, the decision was made. The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd.
π§ββοΈ Those same two roughnecks that just grabbed him earlier? I thought we were through with those guys.
π³ββοΈ His legs felt like they were going to collapse. He closed his eyes as they began to read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam..
π§ββοΈ That's the Muslim version of Hell. Gah,lovely. *Grimace*
π³ββοΈ His name was read first.
π§ββοΈ Ugh. Oh, come on, give him a break, he's not Jeff or Jane the Killer, he's not Laughing Jack, or anything like it. I don't want to see anyone go to hell - excuse me, jahannam, even when I intensely dislike them.
π³ββοΈ He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldnβt be, "How could I go to Jahannam? I served others all my life, I spread the word of Allah to others." His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat.
π§ββοΈ He can wake up out of this nightmare any time nowβ¦
π³ββοΈ The two angels took him by the arms.
π§ββοΈ Oh, not you two mooks again! Get lost!
π³ββοΈ As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward the blazing flames of Jahannam.
π§ββοΈ Gah, I really don't like you chain angels! Go pick on Jeff The Killer or someone like that who's even remotely close to deserving your attention.
π³ββοΈ He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help him. He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Noble Qurβan that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him.
π§ββοΈ I get it already. Look, if you rotters don't stop this cruelty, I will step in and stop it for you. And you won't like it!
π³ββοΈ The Jahannam angels continued to drag him. They had gotten closer to the Hellfire.
π§ββοΈ Hey you thug angels, let him go! NOW!
π³ββοΈ He looked back and these were his last pleas. Had not Rasulullah [SAW] said, "How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah performed five times cleanse someone of their sins?"
π§ββοΈ Well I have no idea who or what Rasulullah is, and couldn't find a definition of that word alone, anyway, let me guess - this poor guy got dragged to hell because he didn't pray five times during one day of his life, resulting in not being cleansed/forgiven for his sins? What were his sins anyway to even get such an appalling sentence? Islam goes disgustingly easy on some things that are appalling sins, and condemns things which are not.
π³ββοΈ He began yelling, "My prayers? My prayers? My prayers?"
π§ββοΈ Began yelling? You stupid angels have been making him yell out of terror for a long time already!
π³ββοΈ The two angels did not stop,
π§ββοΈ Of course not, they were having too much fun dragging some poor person down to hell. - Oops, I mean, Jahannam. *Glower* I hate these angels!
π³ββοΈ and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam.
π§ββοΈ And these *cough* angels were probably having a big 'lulz'.
π³ββοΈ The flames of the fire were burning his face. He looked back one last time,
π§ββοΈ Huh? If my face was on fire, I wouldn't be looking anywhere, I'd be wanting just one thing, to get my head out of the fire!
π³ββοΈ but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him.
π§ββοΈ Except screams of agony. *Shudder, glares at thugangels*
π³ββοΈ One of the angels pushed him in.
π§ββοΈ Aaaaaaagh! I'm going to throttle these thug angels!
π³ββοΈ He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames.
π§ββοΈ Huh? But didn't you already say that flames were burning him? And when are you going to end this awful story?
π³ββοΈ He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.
π§ββοΈ What? There's actually someone with compassion hanging around Jahannam?
Oh, I think I get it - whoever just barely caught him in time, unlike his not getting through his prayers in time earlier. *Rolling eyes* Gah, what a rotten cruel trick to play on somebody just to teach them a lesson about timely prayingβ¦
π³ββοΈ He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard. He wiped some dust off himself and asked him, "Who are you?"
π§ββοΈ Nobody seems to be in charge here, so yeah, just who is this dude? I like him for pulling this victim out of the fire. But who is he?
π³ββοΈ The old man replied, "I am your prayers."
π§ββοΈ Oh, for - the - love! *Facepalm*
How cheesy can this get!?
First, prayers are something we say, they don't turn into actual beings as far as I know. And the whole thing is just,I'm at a loss for words to describe this particular kind of craptastic...
π³ββοΈ "Why are you so late?! I was almost in the Fire! You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in."
π§ββοΈ It's the whole karma thing gone way overboardβ¦ Yeah, I know that is not an islamic reference. I don't care.
π³ββοΈ The old man smiled and shook his head, "You always performed me at the last minute, did you forget?"
π§ββοΈ No, dude, nice as you are for getting him out of the fire, you were never performed by him, his prayers were. You aren't his prayers, even if you say you are. You could very well be the answer to his prayers to get out of the torture.
π³ββοΈ At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajdah.
π§ββοΈ And realized he was alive and just had a real doozy of a nightmare that changed his attitude, scaring him into praying every prayer on time from then onβ¦ Bleah.
π³ββοΈ He was in a sweat. He listened to the voices coming from outside. He heard the Adhan for Salat-ul Isha. He got up quickly and went to perform Wudhu.
π§ββοΈ Okay, so, he heard the call to prayer still going on for the evening, got ready, washing ritual and allβ¦
π³ββοΈ Pass this on to your friends and familyβ¦β¦.Maybe, you can help someone open their eyes.
π§ββοΈ Open their eyes to what? I'm not passing this on anywhere.
π³ββοΈ And who knows? Maybe, this is a good deed that can help you during The Day of Judgment. (INSHA-ALLAH)
π§ββοΈ Uh, no, thanks.
Here are some testimonies from ex-muslim NDEs. Accounts of terror and miracles, and hope.
Over and out.
