🧝♀️Ocean Elf: MLP is a gargantuan internet meme that spawns zillions of meme branches of itself, thanks to 4chan's origination of the brony subculture, complete with a rabid MLP fandom.
So, MangleTheMemes is a site totally against memes. As anyone should know from reading the content, this should be crystal clear. That has not changed since the last sites when they were run on hosts that eventually crapped out on their users.
Yet, what did this pegasister do?
She thought she would "smash" an article she didn't like, because it insulted the MLP fanbase according to her.
Coming onto a site that opposes memes, to defend one of the internet's biggest and creepiest memes of all!
Not cool.
General rants that don't specifically mangle memes were sometimes welcome, but that also depended on what kind of rant it was. Giving trolls and spammers a good telling-off is fine. But being a peeved off fangirl and getting offended because somebody doesn't like anime or My Little Pony, is not. There are plenty of sites specifically for fandoms to share and vent. This isn't one of them.
And she was told the site's position from the beginning.
The article wasn't insulting to the entire fanbase, that including casual fans who just like MLP. The article took issue with the fandom. There is a difference.
* * *
🙎Amanda Marcotte: Triumph of the bronies! Hasbro turning My Little Pony characters into 'sexy' human girls. Neigh.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: You do know that horses go 'neigh', right? This article is already ticking me off.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Wit-attempt fail, and no kidding, it doesn't take much to tick off a fan nutter who is an admitted otaku as well as a pegasister… Say anything that doesn't praise the fandom or their ridiculous glomming on to some kiddy show as if it's the best thing in the world, and whew! Watch the sparks fly! Rainbow sparks at that!
Nothing at all wrong with just being a casual fan of, liking some kid's show as an individual, but individuality isn't what these massive crazy fan cults are about. They are a living gigantic meme! And they turn whatever they're obsessed with into a meme. That's what happened with this "My Little Pony" stuff.
My Little Pony (MLP for short) was a show and a bunch of collectable plastic toys back in the 80s. It seemed to fade into oblivion, and suddenly exploded with a frightening and disgusting fan base, thanks to the internet hoaxer/meme-originating, internet troll pit known as 4chan. They love taking stuff that started out as kiddy fare and corrupting it all to heck.
While I don't generally read or promote Slate Magazine, they are the source of this article. The only reason it was featured on Smashers at all is because it ticked off a former member who is a former member because she 's a pegasister&otaku, and she thought she would "smash" this article.
But - a point not in favour of this article is that it has gone viral, thus, become a chain letter. This is mostly due to bronies being hit in the ego and throwing tantrums. It was Tumblred by that horror known as Pony Runoff a nightmarish combination of ponified feminism that uses left-wing social 'justice' terminology such as "slut-shaming" to call down anyone who doesn't like women bearing it all in public. BTW, I'm against anyone bearing it all in public, regardless of gender. the article was also reblogged from there in all directions by other Tumblrs. It was also shared on Reddit, where fans naturally had conniptions. It was posted on Deviantart where bronies heaped all sorts of hate-ridden comments against Amanda Marcotte for daring to point out the obvious - bronies are whackers fanatics over some stupid kiddy show, because of a huge epic 4chan troll-fest that got the whole stinking horsecrap fad started.
Whether or not Amanda Marcotte meant for her article to go viral, it got the bronie contingent all up in hooves.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic has done really well for a kid's TV show established just to sell more plastic toys. So well, in fact, that Hasbro decided to expand the franchise even further with a movie—My Little Pony: Equestria Girls opens Friday in theaters. [blah blah, Transformers, blah.]
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Well duh it's all about marketing, and those remakes often suck. I have a friend who is a Transformers fan, not a fangirl, just an average fan. She loves the 80s cartoons, and understandably dislikes at least some of what was done to Transformers since then, including the way its own idiotic fan base behaves.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Please get to your point already.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Please shut up, I held my tongue for as long as i could manage but you are really annoying.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: However, as New York Daily News reports, some mothers are up in arms because the new characters/toys-to-be are sexified teenage girls, all miniskirts and knee-high boots, adding the once-innocent horses to the growing pile of toys that parents fear will give their girls body issues as they grow up:
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Bleck! Why do people always corrupt it all? Okay, this bugs me on a few levels.
It's anthropomorphic. That's way too close to animal rights for comfort. Even the argument against it in this article stinks. All that whinge about "Waaaah, it's gonna give girls body issues!" is typical feminist claptrap. Feminism sees people in terms of good but helpless weak-minded gender vs. bad powerful rape-minded gender. They're always on about how girls are being told they are expected to be perfect helpless little eye-candies, and how only feminism can "empower" us with the words and the very minds to say no to that message. And how? Why, by holding slut walks and being as wench to every male as possible! Oh, and feminism also sees male as potential rapist, by default. So girls are these feeble minds who need feminism telling them how to think, while boys are feeble minds who all need to be 'taught' not to rape. Never mind the fact that there are girl rapists, murderers etc. and guys who would never hurt anyone.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: ARGHHH!!!! Didn't we already go through this stuff with Dora a few years back?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Rolling eyes* Oh probably. Dora annoys me too. As does pretty much anything and everything you're into…
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: I think you did!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Well I guess you'd know, fangirl extraordinaire that you are. *Rolling eyes*
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Plus, how are these "sexified"? That isn't even a word!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Says the otaku who put "Weeaboo' 'weeaboo' 'weeaboo' all over the place when trying to differentiate between herself and her fellow otaku idiots who may or may not be more idiotic than her. Says the otaku who shows she's been chugging the 4chan koolaid with the use of 'weeaboo' which - you got it, IS NOT A REAL WORD!
'-ify' is a legitimate suffix people use at the end of some words as a means to describe certain actions. 'beautify' to make more beautiful, 'uglify' to make ugly, yes I have seen well balanced people put 'ify' on various words to describe it as an action done to something. So 'sexify' is, unlike 'weeaboo' a legitimate word, used by a reporter, not created by some community of internet lulz-addicted losers.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: And as long their skirts go past their thighs, they're not "sexy" to me!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Please, face facts. it's not just the skirts, and only just thigh-length is still a mini. Deal. I wouldn't be caught dead in one.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: And, if you don't want your kids to see the movie, THEN DON'T LET THEM SEE THE DANG MOVIE!!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Another amazing pearl of absolutely brilliant wisdom from this seriously cheesed off pegasister!
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: YOU PARENTS ARE A DISGRACE TO THIS SOCIETY!!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Rolling eyes* Says the 4chan-brain-washed otaku Pegasister fangirl! Have you taken a good look at yourself lately? The way you people carry on about some blasted stupid show that really isn't all that great, and how you take it so personally when someone calls out the new MLP stuff and its fangirls/boys for what they are.
And that's just about freaking stupid MLP.
Other stuff you did in here:
Pitched tantrums accusing people of being "ignorant" and "hater" among other things because you were so terribly blistered that they actually didn't like anime, and *gasp* dared to express that opinion. In that tantrum plus this meme-mangling attempt fail, you looked down your nose at people for not watching enough anime to satisfy you. You thought your otaku whizzing contest was actually impressive and suitable as a *cough* mangling on a no-otaku zone, where nobody shares your MLP/Japan thing.
Fangirl wrath examples:
—
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Stupid Ignorant Anime Hater Smash
🧟♀️k.bieber.styles: You have no right to hate on fandoms. Directioners & Beliebers can do a lot and Anime fans can literally kill you!
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: *facepalm* Yet again, another moron who only probably watched one or two anime.
🧟♀️k.bieber.styles: Wow you're brave! You are not afraid of the anime fans who will brutally kill you.
—
Otaku twit: Watched over 250 anime series
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Probably one episode of each, except Shingeki no Kyojin.
—
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: What you're about to witness is the stupidest Japanese blunder ever.
—
🧝♀️: And after all that, you had the audacity to call a devastating tragedy "mundane instead of really smashing the chain letter that trivializes it.
So who is the disgrace again?
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: ARGHH!!!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: and argh right back at you.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: “They’re not ponies anymore! So what’s the appeal?” says 29-year-old Washington Heights mom Eynat Amir, who stables 30 of her original 1980s Ponies at her mom’s house. “These look more like Bratz dolls."
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: she would know, being a fan of the original and not a pegasister, I'll add.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Characters? Looking like Bratz dolls? 1., Bratz are so 2008,
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Rolling eyes* Gah, just another thing that you did to irritate the living heck out of me. You act like anything older than whatever your standard is, is worthless and not fair game for comparing with anything.
—
Otaku twit: Shingeki no Kyojin/Attck on Titan FTW *^*
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Weelll.... that was random, but at least it's a new anime.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: See? Now, back to the brony rant.
—
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: and 2., Bratz are sexy. Not the Ponies.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Nothing from kiddy shows should be sexy but fans have this nasty habit of sexing up anything. This is especially true of troll hangouts like 4chan, where bronyism was originated by trolls. A sensible fan of the original My Little Pony knows a bit more than any crybaby pegasister/otaku what's wrong with the new My Little Pony fad and why.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Ponies: Bratz:
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Whatever.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: I don't know... Ponies look more proportioned than the Bratz, but... whatever.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Either one looks unrealistic. whatever.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: Turning the ponies into human girls does seem like a baffling choice on its surface. [blah blah blah Barbie, Bratz, blah blah blah]
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Sickening IMO.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: It isn't really that baffling. It's a unique choice, and something the fandom was already doing.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Unique? Oh, please! You just said yourself, the fandom was already doing it. With the animal welfare/rights activists jumping on kiddy movies to use them for their agendas, it's hardly unique, and a pretty profitable choice for the toy and movie companies who can make a bundle off this crap.
Before I was exposed to the internet blight of otakuism, there was a time I innocently liked to speculate on what types of animals various human characters could make. That all got ruined, for good, in one fell swoop, by otaku and their STOOPID kawaii *cough* art!
🙎Amanda Marcotte: But what if the change wasn't about little girls at all?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Other than to push "Someday when I grow up I wanna be a horse rescuer and work with the ASPCA!" There's always 4chan, otaku, furries, a bunch of freaks into taking stuff meant for kids and screwing it up, literally…
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Finally to the point.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Which really got you hot under the collar.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: What if there was another audience—an older, male, and kind of off-putting audience—that also loves the Ponies and wants nothing more than imagery of them as humans to appeal to their less-than-innocent fantasies about really getting personal with their favorite toys?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yep, that's exactly what happened, and not just with boys. The otaku girls with their stupid animekitty kawaii art where they make Kitty versions of anime terrorist characters like *cough* Treize Khushrenada from Gundam wing. The difference there being that Gundam Wing was never meant for kids. But hormonal drippy fans will be hormonal drippy fans, unfortunately.
They shout down and drown out anyone who dares to express annoyance/disgust with them. for every person revolted by otaku, there are about a hundred more otaku whinging about how unfair that one person is to them. *Rolling eyes* Ditto for the MLP fan cult.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: SHUT. UP.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Red alert! Reporter has royally ticked off a pegasister!
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Just to let you know, I'm not a brony/pegasister
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yes you are, you admitted it on your Quotev profile and I quote:
"Oh, I forgot! I'm a closet Pegasister, and I love Friendship is Witchcraft."
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: neither am I a hater.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Ah, the "hater" label that fan cultists just love to throw around at anyone who dares to dislike their idol series/celeb/whatever, and especially the screwed up fanatics within those fandoms… *Rolling eyes* Besides, it's such a ghetto-talk expression.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: I'm not a fan nor a fantard.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yes you are. If you weren't, you wouldn't feel the need to rant at this reporter for telling the ugly truth about the MLP fandom.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: I'm just sticking for the fanbase,
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: You don't need to. Not everyone in the fanbase would feel insulted by this article. If I was a casual fan of MLP, I would still agree with it on the basis that the MLP fandom that originated with 4chan is creepy and annoying.
So you are not just part of the fanbase, you're obviously part of the fandom the way you carry on here. Only a brony/pegasister would get up in arms over this article.
Sticking up for the fandom, though, is championing the cause of stupidity and perversion. way to go. a real, normal, casual fan would not stick up for the fandom, or want someone from the fandom sticking up for the fan base, they'd is associate from the fandom and quietly be a fan on their own, and in their own way, without obsessing over MLP. Or anime.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: because I know that that statement is bullcrap indeed.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: No, you just wish it was bullcrap.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Also, not the whole fanbase of MLP:FiM are furry-fans.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: And who said anything about furries?
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: 99% of them just like the show, and only 1% would want to 'get personal' with Twilight Sparkle or Derpy Hooves or whatever.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Uh no, that percentage would be a heck of a lot higher when you consider all the perverted MLP clop crap on the internet. Sure there are decent people in the fanbase (not the fandom) who grew up with and like MLP, from the 80s and maybe even FIM. But not the brony subculture that originated with 4chan trolls back in around 2010.
So what if MLP fanatics aren't all furries? There are furries who don't even like MLP, and bronies/pegasisters who probably don't like furries.
On an article I found, (I won't give the link in this post because the author threw an f-bomb,) he showcased a few comments from an otaku-style bullying campaign via massive flamewar started by bronies, who were royally, unjustly, ticked off by a mother who dared to express her feelings over the corruption of a kiddy show. Her original article is here.
🐱Furry Aiden Raccoon: "Oh come on. I’m in the furry community and, while true, furries find plenty of fap material, MLP is NOT one of them."
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Gags* I rest my case on the not all furries like MLP front.
Then there's this comment, made by a nightmarish combination of an anime and MLP fanatic.
🐎Brotaku": "...these little ponies are cute and small and sweet, and somewhere in our male minds, buried below the repressed feelings and pointless displays of masculinty, is an instinct to protect the cute, the small, the helpless. To prove my point ask any brony how he felt when Gilda made Fluttershy cry
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Pukes* Cut the bull. Regardless of how totally heart-palpitating pony tears might be to a rabid MLP fan, all that claptrap about repressed sensitivity in males and trying to break down gender stereotypes is buttkiss. An author on Breitbart.com makes the same mistake, turning the whole thing into a big gender war in this whinge-fest.
The idiot in the Breitbart article also needs it knocked into their head that violence is not a good thing either, and war is heck. I'm as sick of this mentality as I am of those anti-war activists. After all, the Breitbart author could apply this whole war whinge to everyone and anyone who is not fighting in some war zone. Sure, soldiers are fighting and dying over there while bronies drool and squeal over horsey plushies. But soldiers are also fighting and dying - as she's awaiting hip surgery, - as he plays hockey, - as she goes to ballet class, - as he goes shopping, - as she sits playing piano, - as he broadcasts the weather forecast, and on it goes. So, bronies aren't fighting and dying in a war zone. Well guess what? Neither am I, shame on me; if you're reading this, you probably aren't either, shame on you; A lot of us aren't fighting and risking our lives and killing others, well shame on us all; for that matter, Neither is the very author of that article! So shame on them too. By this author's implication, could be a heck of a lot more useful if we'd all ship out, be ready and willing to die and kill. no, he never should've gone there with that post.
And to nail this particular coffin shut, there are military men who are bronies!
Besides, if push ever came to shove so that a war was started over anime or MLP beyond the internet, I'm not at all sure these fans wouldn't take up arms and fight in the name of Hetalia, Madoka Magica, Gundam whatever, Pewdiepie, Pinkie Pie Flutterbies and rainbow sparkles. If they will get this worked up over a kid's show, there's no telling what else they're capable of. And this whole "They should act like men" thing. Please. They ARE acting like men, that's why they get turned on by this stuff - and why they are not satisfied with just watching a show and collecting its merchandise. The reason there are porn MLP images and sex toys being made is exactly because these fans are acting like man/woman animals. Not children. If they were just acting like children, they would probably be considered merely a little eccentric. But this is corrupt because their man hormones are getting in the way, causing them to go from harmless decent MLP hobbyist to bronie.
Brotaku fancultism, or as one person quite away down the page on this thread calls it 'hipster' is a disgusting combination of extreme self-indulgent childishness plus raging hormones, peer-pressure and possibly addiction.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: If there was such an audience, they have a little bit more disposable income than little girls, and selling to them, even if you alienate parents of little girls, might end up being quite profitable indeed.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: A company that markets to little kids does have a responsibility not to damage their good reputation. So they're not going to do anything overtly risqué. However, there are always other little scumbags looking to get a piece of the market, and they know they can sucker some stupid pervs out of a lot of money.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Wha? Did Google Translate just step in?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Nevermind, it obviously flew right over your head. *Whizzing sound*
🙎Amanda Marcotte: And lookie here, there is such an audience.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Oh, goody. You just discovered the balck hole of the Internet. Good for you, newbie.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yes, O Queen Of Rainbow-y Awesome Arrogance, this reporter was probably on the internet before you were even born, chick! And what the heck is a 'balck'? Could you have meant 'bulk'? If so, other than the newbie part, you just pointed out the obvious yet again. Good for you.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: They're called Bronies, and they're grown men who love all things My Little Pony and they don't have moms around to tell them no if they want to rush out and buy all the Ponies, even the very expensive, oversized, and collector's item ones, as well as all their accessories.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Not all of them do. That's just the sterotype set-up for them.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: "Not all of them" "Not all of them" "Not all of them" this, "Not all of them" that. Oh, boo-hoo-hoo-hoo, cry me an ocean over it. This isn't a stereotype, it is reality, there are crazed bronies who are bronies because they have sick crushes on these items. There are otaku who are otaku because they are addicted to anime, the majority having stupid character crushes. It is unlikely such fandoms would have taken off at all in such a massive way if it weren't for the sex and glam elements. Yes, that does include the whole one-upmanship thing "I gots more manga/anime/Equestria stuff so I'm a wealth of all things next to you!"
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: And, think about this: Just because someone like My Little Pony doesn't mean that they want merchandise of it.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Golly gee! Obvious statement number - I've lost count. Really! You just blow me away!
It's not even buying merchandise that's the problem here, it's all the - *cringe and rolling eyes* Oh, never mind. The article touches on it well, you just keep having Clydesdales over it.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: A shirt, fine. A hat, also fine. A few comics? That's good. A little plushie here or there? Also fine.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Ah yes, those cute little plushies, like the stupid little Medoka Magica one you just HAD to tell a bunch of people on some public forum that you possessed, though nobody gives a crap and the forum is not otaku friendly and has nothing at all to do with anime/MLP at all.
Nothing against collecting stuff, even plushies, but seriously, this chick had gotten so freaking annoying with her obsessions, making the site look more like a fandom hangout than what it was for. It was an embarrassment!
It's one thing to collect stuff and like a series. It's another to be childishly obsessive and sickening about it.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: They are not all INSANE.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: "They are not all" this. "They are not all" that. She never said they were. She's talking about the fact that sickies do exist in these fandoms, which do make up the bulk of it when it comes to bronies… That's a fan cult where people call themselves a special title like bronie/pegasister/otaku and tend to act derpy or hormonal or both. that's not to be confused with the casual fan or the hobbyist who just happens to like particular things and doesn't define their lives and themselves by them, and does not want any part of fandoms. This reporter is not talking about your garden variety doll-collector.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: My Little Pony didn't set out to capture that cherished 18-45 male demographic when they started making cute little TV programs about pony friendship,
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Actually, after the first episode and the Derpy fiasco, they kind of did.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Wrong. she's talking about the real series, the original. She said "they didn't set out to" which means that attracting a bunch of sicko sexually frustrated males was never their aim - going right back to the very beginning. Otherwise, they would've joined up with Playboy.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Especially since it was 4Chan that started it all.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yes, your pals at the illustrious 4chan… they did start the whole stupid bronie thing, of course.
So you knew that, and still you thought you could join a site against 4chan and memes and crazy fandoms, to defend all of that. You were told it is not crazy fandom or 4chan-friendly. You were told why.
That was an astounding blunder on your part, and my mistake for letting you stay as long as you did.
Don't blame Hasbro for 4chan idiotics… You basically just said that the people who created MLP are at fault for things stupid fan cultists and trolls do, and that they, not the stupid fans and trolls should be the ones to take the blame. Way to go! idiot!
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: And, also, the people knew before that the person that made Powerpuff Girls (also another hit with the grown ups)
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: To throw your own words back in your face "Not all grownups"
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: was going to be in it, so... yeah.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yeah, no, it doesn't matter who was in where other than that 4chan got their slimy tentacles all over it and really got the ball rolling for the sicko horseplay.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: but now that they have that demo, I suspect they're going to do everything in their power to keep it.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: A legit toy company won't. But some sleaze making knockoff items and disgusting ponyporn would.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: You do know that you are talking about the people that made Doctor Whooves and DeJay Pon3 appear in few more episodes after their debut as a background character, right?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Huh? Sorry, nodded off. what was that? oh, nothing, you're still droning on.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: Bronies have expressed a strong interest in seeing the Ponies in sexy, humanized forms—
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yeah, that's what makes them bronies.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Oooh, girls with pale, frilly dresses and Mary-jane shoes! With pink skin! Sooo sexy!-yeah right, idiot.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Hey newb, you'd be surprised. In fact, I'm surprised you haven't heard/seen it all yet considering the fandoms you so staunchly defend.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: If the guys want sexy, they'll go watch Ecchi or Hentai. NOT My Little Pony in highschool.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Hentai had to be created somewhere, same goes for ponyporn… And let's not forget those otaku and their kawaii character crushes and kitties… Same thing.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: if you doubt this, I dare you to search for "my little pony porn" on Google—
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Eww! no thanks. But let this be a caution to parents who have little kids who are MLP fans. It's not safe to let your guard down when it comes to your kids on the net. Not even in what's supposed to be a kid-safe zone, now corrupted by the depravity rights activists at 4chan and the bronies.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: -unless if you have it on SafeSearch- and it's called Rule 34, idiot.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: She's not an idiot, you are just pitching a tantrum, howling much louder than you have a right to over this.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Rule 34: If there is a franchise, make porn of it.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: So - i must be an idiot as well, according to you, because I didn't know what rule 34 was either. Another shady meme. *Scowl*
🙎Amanda Marcotte: and it seems Hasbro has given them exactly what they want.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Stop trying to convince that your insane idea is correct. I think that you're the one that finds the ponies sexy.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Wow, you'd really love that, wouldn't you? no, she is right. Intentionally or not, and I'm airing on the side of not, Hasbro has unwittingly given these freaks what they want. You're just running your mouth because you just don't have any good arguments for defending a fan cult you've chosen to identify with. Not that you even should be upset over this, you're the one who agreed with that sucky "Disney Should do" Quotev chain letter when it said Disney should make a gay prince.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: If there was any danger of the Brony trend dying off any time soon,
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Three years and still going strong, doofus.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Unfortunately, fangirl… subcultures die hard. And when the short-lived celeb ones fade, others crop up. You never hear about BSB or NSync any more, now it's one direction, Justin Bieber, Lady gaga, Katy Perry, rihanna, Miley Cyrus. But otakuism has been around since the early 2000s, probably back into the 90s. So it's not surprising bronies are still around.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: turning the Ponies into imitation sexy anime characters delayed that potential decline.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Oh, now watch Her Kawaii-ness Otaku Queen go off on a huge puffed-up diatribe over the sin of calling MLP "anime".
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: *snorts water out of her nose* "anime" characters?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Yes, otakupegasister, Anime! Cartoons! Animation! don't get all self-righteous and superior again. You really aren't impressing anyone by splitting this ridiculous hair. You are just predictable and lame.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: You haven't seen any "sexy anime" characters yet, imbocile-who-thinks-that-all-anime-is-naughty-tentacles.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Eww! anime has apparently gotten much worse than the Gundam Wing days.
You have no idea what she has or has not all seen. And if you go on yet another tirade about all the various anime you can name and what they are all about, I will hurl.
and I just got an idea. The tentacles thing, hmm, connection between anime and Slender Man - the reason 4chan gave him tentacles - one of the reasons you just don't even have the guts to give him a good drubbing, it's all just speculation on my part, but it does make one wonder.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: A few mad moms is an easy price to pay when you consider the huge profits Hasbro will rake in with this move.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: I have to disagree. Sure they're trying to make a profit, but it isn't their fault the sickies have latched onto the product.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Again. A FEW.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Enough to get noticed. Deal with it and stop whining.
Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Most likely the same moms that berated the new Dora and was complaining about Nick Jr.'s absense of Moose A Moose. They just hate change, that's all,Slate.com.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Annoyed sigh* Dora Dora Dora schmora already! I'm not up on freaking Dora, and don't care. Their beefs may have had merit, or maybe not. whatever. That's not the issue. The issue is parents are concerned about bad marketing decisions and sickies influencing their kids, and that is worth being concerned about.
🙎Amanda Marcotte: And... who knows? It may bomb.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: I would like nothing more, then that sick fandom might die away. no more "MLP" just cropping up randomly everywhere and so much and all too often when looking for communities to join. it's like a persistent bad smell that just wafts everywhere so there's no getting away from it! It's a self-replicating giant chain letter, an infestation.

Nariko🌈🐴Rainbow: Epilogue: This guy is right
Idiot: You realize that bronies had a very negative reception of Equestria Girls, due to viewing it as an empty attempt to sell more toys with design that was far lazier than the show, a far inferior plot with high school drama and fluff to the show's plot with actual consequences and moral dilemmas, and a heavy-handed attempt to appeal to the wider demographic that they already had, PLUS the very criticisms you talk about here in regards to sexuality?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: So there was a split in the brony subculture. Sort of like the "otaku VS weeaboo" bullcrap. Hardly a rebuttal of what the reporter said.
Idiot: To say this is a "triumph" of the bronies is hilariously out of touch with the actual fanbase,
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Keep dreaming. The fandom is still at the very least, annoying as all get out if not mostly nutsy, out-of-touch people.
Idiot: and its reaction to EG. And literally every popular TV show has porn, including the children's shows....
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Which is a travesty. *Scowl* Just because sickos make porn out of every show and especially kiddy shows doesn't make it right, or excuse this huge whinge-fest.
Brony subculture and the crud they produce is the stuff of skin-crawling nightmares.
Over and out.
