On February 3, 2013, a Twitter hack hoax was perpetrated by The DM Reporter, Daily Mail-hating liberals who claim they weren't out to make fools of anybody or troll for more attention.
Bull.
The DM Reporter, DailyCurrant.com, Theonion.com, weeklyWorldNews.com, you get the idea, fake news sites, a horrendous waste of internet resources and bandwidth. The DMReporter is a hoax and nonsense news mill with no real connection to the Daily Mail other than using them and their fans as the butt of a hacking prank for the lulz.
This hoax was a fake Daily Mail account, claiming to be hacked, taken over by leftists who were intent on bringing the Daily Mail down. Playing along was @PaulDacreDM, another yutz who is part of this Twitter cess pit. He apparently thought it was cool to impersonate some Daily Mail journalist.
People were lead to believe the hackers had thought the parody account was the real Daily Mail account, and had managed to hack it, and were now dumping anti-Daily Mail tweets on it.
Oh, really? How could hackers be this stupid? To anyone with a bit of sense and is not blinded by hatred for the Daily Mail, this would've stunk of hoax right away… Like everything else coming from DMReporter.
Upping the ante, the second parody account, impersonating some real person working for the Daily Mail (*Scowl* NOT COOL!) begged to have their account back.
But, there were no hackers.
the whole thing was done by the Daily Mail fakes themselves.
It gave them an opportunity to tell the twitter verse how they really feel about the Daily Mail and about conservatives in general.
The fake Daily Mail blog where the hoax is explained, has them admitting they dislike the Daily Mail due to politics, so they used this hoax to get that point of view out as well as to try teaching us all a lesson about not taking anything you see on Twitter seriously, no matter which side of the aisle it comes from.
Oh, and there was another very important reason they committed the hoax.
They wanted to win some sort of web award!
This would've worked better if it wasn't for their own biases, hadn't come from a nonsense source, and if the method wasn't so dishonest and lousy.
But they were only doing something that would be utterly substandard and even stupid coming from the right, but entirely typical coming from the left.
If this same thing had come from someone from the Daily Mail, it would've been condemned to hell en masse as "right-wing crazies/lies" but coming from the left, it gets hailed as nothing less than brilliant, jolly good parody. Unfortunately, this effort was applauded by a writer at Mediaite. All the kudos they got when they fessed up was nauseating.
While it was going, the hoax was absolutely sweet music to the ears of liberals everywhere who hate the daily Mail and want it brought down. The hoax duped these people, who chimed in with their own typical railing against the Daily Mail. There were liberals who really were worried the parody site had been taken over, and wishing the real Daily Mail was hacked.
The hoaxers have this lame disclaimer on their Twitter:
"The DM Reporter @DMReporter We are not journalists. We do not write for the Daily Mail. We do not think coffee gives you cancer. We happen to think immigration makes the world interesting. Canary Islands (tax purposes) http://dmreporter.wordpress.com"
That's for sure, they're not journalists. They aren't even hackers, just hacks. Trolls.
Did you notice they just had to stick cancer into this? Seriously, trolls and their love-affair with cancer is as annoying and typical as holier-than-thou hoaxers thinking they can teach the world a lesson with stupid hoaxes.
Well, you know, those who can't write real news, write parody.
So here they are, in all their glory, each Tweet status, the links leading to each conversation in reaction to every hoax tweet.
🤥💩Tweet1: ATTENTION! ATTENTION! WE HAVE SEIZED CONTROL OF THE DAILY MAIL. YOU CAN NO LONGER SPREAD YOUR RIGHTWING LIES. YOU ARE HACKED, BITCHES!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: You lie - and you'll do whatever it takes to spread your left-wing lies. You didn't take over The Daily Mail, you just wish you could. Admit it. You have to be pretty desperate and without a life to run an ongoing Daily Mail spoof Twitter plus blog!
🤥💩Tweet 2: Who wants to hear some lies about immigrants and the poor? Want to read all about teenagers 717$? No longer. We run this motherflarer now.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Scowls* Typical of you to be vulgar. You really wish the Daily Mail was into teen porn. They're not, so you happily make that up. You and your filthy minds have always run your stupid Twitter account and it is you who are obsessed with porn and spreading lies about the poor - mainly the lie that says "Conservatives all hate the poor!" When have the poor ever gotten any richer under a left-wing government? You conveniently keep forgetting about your deep-pocketed friends who have managed to exert far more power over the media and the general public's access to information and point of view (Gore, Soros, Obama, anyone and everyone at NBC etc.) than the Daily Mail.
There are things conservatives can and need to do in order to help dispel the poor-hating myth. They need to stop coming back at liberals with stupid comments about welfare and food stamps and free cell phones. Every time a conservative makes a retort to liberal dogma with "Go get your welfare check." or anything of the sort, they are handing liberals one more gun to shoot them with. Whoops, right, liberals hate guns. My bad - I meant knife to stab them with.
🤥💩Tweet3: Shall we delete the Daily Mail? Run them from the Internet? Destroy them? No more lies and Tory propaganda.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Shall we delete the Daily Mail Reporter parody site? Run them from the Internet? Destroy them? No more lies and liberal propaganda.
Short answer: No.
🤥💩Tweet4: Daily Mail poisons your minds with false worship of celebrity. Money money money. Cancer cancer cancer. You will pay for slagging Anonymous.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Typical cancer-loving trolls at DMReporter kill brain cells with false worship of 'the lulz' and 4chan/Anonymous and all associated slime.
and The idea, the terminally retarded idea of the Daily Mail worshiping cancer is something only you deranged pukes could conceive! Projection much?
You might want to talk to Gore, Soros, Obama and all liberal politicians about their own wealth before running your mouth with condemnations of others not belonging to your party having any money. If there is one thing greed isn't, it's bipartisan.
🤥💩Tweet5: Guess you shouldn’t have made your password hitlerwasright. LOLZ. Prepare to have your followers blocked and your tweets deleted.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Disgusted glare* You've just admitted that you are idiots, of the worst kind. Everyone who makes glib references to hitler/Nazis in an attempt to vilify who they are opposing is an idiot. Never has the Daily Mail ever praised anything Hitler did or said, much as you just drool at the thought of that in your own sick little heads. You really deserve to get hacked/deleted for that slanderous trash.
🤥💩Tweet6: You will never find us. You can never trace us. We are everywhere and your mainstream media lies must be punished. Hack the planet!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Huh? Whatever happened to "Save the PLANET! Worship the PLANET!"
Yeah, I get it, you're extremist. Even the mainstream media isn't leftist enough for you.
No, we will never find/trace you, in a physical sense anyway. One person can't exactly find and trace a figment of another person's imagination, and only a crime investigator or neuroscientist would want to go anywhere near yours.
🤥💩Tweet7: Twitter hack. We have all your passwords. Right wing media meet your makers.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Huh? Lol! You made the "right-wing media"? Wow, talk about an enormous bungle at trying to sound intimidating!
FAIL!
🤥💩Tweet8: LIES. Die propaganda / RT @PaulDacreDM: To whoever hacked @DMReporter. That’s our account. It’s a joke. Can’t you tell it’s not real?”
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: How entertaining reading you having a fight with the imaginary hackers in your heads.
Always the joke excuse with you dipsy trolls. Consider it rejected. Your jokes suck.
🤥💩Tweet9: By reading this account you sanction lies, hypocrisy, hate and racism. The Daily Mail must feel the wrath of the people. You are gone.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: By reading this account you sanction lies, hypocrisy, hate and racism. The Daily Mail spoof AKA DMReporter must be smelling your own stink. You are rotten to the core.
🤥💩Tweet10: Got your attention now haven’t we??? End mass media propaganda NOW or we pull the plug on all. Death to the oppression of freedom of speech.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: And yet you wish to oppress freedom of speech. Right, you only consider people with a different POV from you as oppressing free speech when all they are doing is exercising their freedom of speech. Your fantasy about pulling the plug on the mass media isn't oppressing free speech to you, unless they say what you want them saying. Sounds so fair and not hypocritical in the least! You got the typical troll "You takin' away our free speech!" whinge down pat.
You sure got the attention of some people you fooled with this stupid hoax.
You also got my attention, and unlike most others who reacted to your trashy prank, I'll show you no love.
🤥💩Tweet11 Seriously @DMReporter - you’ve hacked the wrong account. It’s ours. We want it back. 250,000 accounts hacked and you choose ours???
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Wow, playing it to the hilt.
🤥💩Tweet12: I never knew so many lefties loved right-wing propaganda. Call us a parody all you want, we’re still going to destroy the mouthpiece!!!
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Blah, blah, blah. The next lie coming from you will be?
🤥💩Tweet13: BOTHERED: RT: @PaulDacreDM: Seriously @DMReporter this isn’t funny - we’ve spent a lot of time on this account. Police have been called.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Holy crud, really playing it up! Which police? Where? Oh, I know, the ones inside your minds. Do you have an imaginary Twitter admin too?
🤥💩Tweet14: Destroy the media. Bring down oppression. War is bad. Silence the governments. Freedom of speech only for the righteous.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Right, war against the Daily Mail is what your cruddy fake account is all about. I thought you loved government, the bigger, the more controlling to carry out your agendas, the better. "Destroy the media" "Well, since you are part of it although a fake part, sure, why not? Let freedom of speech reign by destroying the media and letting only righteous people speak (whoever they may be) sounds completely fair. You might as well admit it, you're posing as hackers of your own account, but you mean every word of your anti-Daily Mail rant tweets.
🤥💩Tweet15: We’re ending you all. No-one is safe. The Onion, Daily Mash, that inexplicably popular Queen account. You will feel our truth bombs.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Oh noes! The dreaded "truth bombs" are coming! Head for cyber shelter, everyone! These imaginary hackers are on the warpath! *Air raid siren - BOOM!*
🤥💩Tweet16: END: We love you all but when have we *ever* told you the truth? Twitter gets hacked and the next day we’re taken over by Anonymous? C’mon.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: This is the first of about three tweets that actually do contain some truth besides how you feel about the Daily mail and the non-left. But I still don't love you.
🤥💩Tweet17: Thank you all for your replies and making us feel important. We love you all. XXX DMReporter (on deck, and in charge).
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Rolling eyes* Pathetic attention-seekers.
🤥💩Tweet18: A Note on being Hacked... http://bit.ly/11DRViA A Note on Being Hacked No, we weren't hacked. It was a joke, what with Twitter being in news over being hacked and all. Thanks to everyone who joined in, willingly or unwillingly. It was a lot of fun. The roots of this i... WordPress.com @wordpressdotcom
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Here's the link to their fessing up.
🤥💩Tweet19: So, would now be a good time to ask you to vote for us as best #FakeAccount at the Shorty Awards? http://shortyawards.com?category=fakeaccount&screen_name=dmreportershortyawards.com/?category=fake … l
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: *Sneer*
Now for their stupid blog entry.
🤥💩DMReporter: A Note on Being Hacked
Posted on February 3, 2013
No, we weren’t hacked. It was a joke, what with Twitter being in news over being hacked and all. Thanks to everyone who joined in, willingly or unwillingly. It was a lot of fun.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: You already said that on your stupid Twitter account.
🤥💩DMReporter:The roots of this idea came from another parody account I set up a while ago that never really went anywhere, mainly because I didn’t have the time to pay attention to it and only a few tweets in it had already begun to feel repetitive.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: So, like any other nitwit troll, you were sick of being ignored, and you were bored. Do you expect my heart to bleed for you over that? Not gonna happen.
🤥💩DMReporter:That account was @protestm0vement and was a direct reaction to @protestmovement who tweet the most backward, illogical, moronic, counter-productive stabs at protest I’ve ever seen. These are the sort of people whose singular inability to grasp any of the central issues they tweet about actually harm their argument.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Because you were bored, wanted attention, and you have the mind of a schoolyard bully with a pathological need to feel you're smarter than everyone else.
🤥💩DMReporter:Thus when Twitter was hacked it seemed a perfect time to go back to that idea, but with a much larger audience.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Because you were going for biggest attention/cyber-power-grab.
🤥💩DMReporter:There is another point though, which has been a theme of ours for a while – never ever trust anything you read on Twitter. We love our followers very dearly and are genuinely thankful for the attention they give us, but I’m kind of amazed that as many people believed it as they did.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Admitting you're attention-seeking is one small step in the right direction, but beyond that, you're hopeless.
Trying to teach the world a lesson through hoaxes makes you a pathetic joke.
🤥💩DMReporter:How can we legitimately combat the misinformation and underhanded techniques of the real Daily Mail if something as obviously fake as our ‘hack’ is taken at face value? We all do it, we all read tweets that seem to justify our pre-existing opinion and we take those tweets as fact – but the truth is that unless there is a link to a verified and legitimate source then it shouldn’t be trusted.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: What a pile of malarkey coming from you. Pot...Kettle...Noir... You just described the mainstream media. As long as there is liberal bias in the mainstream media, there are no "legitimate" sources.
🤥💩DMReporter:We weren’t out to make fools of anybody and we’re not trolling for more followers – we’re just trying to find new ways to keep the account fresh, and poke fun at some other targets in the process.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Oh, I see... "We weren't trolling and hoaxing, we were just trolling and hoaxing. We just want the attention and everyone to believe left is truth and right is lies." Right... Got it...
🤥💩DMReporter: If you did fall for it, though, don’t feel bad. Yesterday we tweeted
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: More stupidity. And I'm not sorry for anyone on your side who fell for your idiotic hoax.
🤥💩DMReporter:GAY MARRIAGE: Conservatives insist “it’s Adam and Eve, not an all-you-can-eat c*** buffet.”
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Typical tasteless trash from you trolls.
🤥💩DMReporter:…and someone still thought it was real.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: Whose fault is that?
It has been established that you and your sycophants are stupid.
The lesson here isn't just about being careful not to trust anything on twitter, because unlike these fakers, there are people who do tell the truth on Twitter and elsewhere online.
the real lesson should be, never take anything coming from one of these spoof sites as truth, not even claims of being hacked.
Over and out.
