Eventually Pippi had planned for Jesse to come over and fix her computer, that was the ploy, anyway. At the same time, she had invited Titania for a visit. She hoped this would get them talking again, so they would work it out. It did work, though the meeting was very awkward at first. Eventually, Titania apologized, and Jesse forgave her. Then they had to get NT's forgiveness, which wasn't at all easy. NT refused to even look at them, but Pippi would not let her retreat from the situation. only when Titania burst into tears did NT finally believe her, and accept her apologies.
Miranda slipped out that night to stay with Iona, another mage who shared Miranda's love of certain boybands and pop singers. Iona had even promised to get her in good with one of her favorite rock stars; thereby, narrowly avoiding being placed into a group home for troubled teens. Soon afterword, she contacted Kristina via public terminal. Unfortunately it was on an internet message forum she and Kristina frequented along with Titania.

Titania showed me your idiotic letters. I agree with her, there is not a hope in the world of you ever growing up and thinking of anybody besides yourself. your hate toward NT isn't just borderline sick, it's sick. you don't even care that it's causing you to hurt not just her, but a whole lot of other people besides. Because of your maniacal jealousy or whatever it is toward NT, you were willing to nearly get me fired, not to mention what it did to Titania and especially to NT. I'm glad Pippi was there to get us both to come to our senses. And now that you've finally moved out of there you still crave your hourly fix of insulting not just NT but anybody else who cares about her.
But in the end, Miranda, you keep this up, and you're going to be the one most hurt. you'll be one lonely, miserable person, with no one and nothing to blame but yourself for it all.
I've put a filter in Titania's email so anything you send to her will not reach her. I also advised her to put you on her "ignore" list on public forums. Neither of us need your childish harassment.

Once Miranda had moved in with Iona in order to get closer to their mutual pop idol, she also kept in touch with Tonya. For her part, Tonya was elated that Miranda now had access to a computer once again, other than having to sneak off to use those at the school or the public library.
Iona was happy to pretend to be on Miranda's side whenever the subject of NT or Ariel came up, she needed Miranda's trust as part of her own plan.
Though there were no more instances of doubles getting anyone in trouble, NT's online life was becoming even worse.
She got several messages a day, notifying her she had been banned from some forum she had no idea even existed, many of which she would not have frequented even if someone paid her to.
She wrote a few of these administrators back, pleading her case. The odd admin responded with understanding, some replied with snarky remarks saying they didn't believe her, but most didn't reply at all.
The number of tasteless spam email and chain letters coming from addresses she didn't recognize meant she had to spend most of her online time blocking and deleting emails before finally getting to the few that really were important.
She also got messages from Tonya, like the following, bashing her into the ground.

Sometimes the subject warned her the message was just going to be yet another bully and bash attempt from Tonya or someone she'd gotten to help her gang up on NT, and other times, all it took was a glance at the first sentence, but NT'd had more than enough.
How she secretly wished someone would catch Tonya in her malicious acts somehow and put a stop to it. NT didn't dare do anything because she'd get blamed for sure if Tonya was in trouble, and then Tonya would simply twist things around to make herself look like the poor, scared little tough girl and make people sorry for her again, while villifying NT.
So, NT simply resorted to deleting and blocking all of these without reading them.
That didn't stop them from coming, because Tonya continued to spoof email addresses.
NT even had to unsubscribe herself from an anti-NT hate email list which Tonya or Miranda had created, then subscribed her address to.
When she did, Tonya simply subscribed a forwarding email address to the list again, making sure it forwarded to NT's address.
Perplexed, upset and not knowing how to unsubscribe from an account that wasn't her own, NT simply blocked anything with the list subject tag and email list address in it.
What NT didn't know was that anything she blocked still reached her email, but instead of going into her inbox, it accumulated in her deleted folder. She never thought to check the deleted folder, and was too humiliated to tell her guardians or even Ameh about it.
Things almost went sour between Miranda and Tonya at one point, when Miranda nearly chickened out of a particularly heinous online maneuver Tonya was planning.

At this, Miranda threw her head back and laughed like an idiot, until she actually read Tonya's post.
It contained a couple of really sick pictures of sadism Tonya had found somewhere on the worst part of the world wide web, plus a note signed in NT's name that contained all kinds of gruesome plans and details of how she was glad her own mother had been molested, wanted her dead and describing in horrific detail some of the ideas/fantasies she had about having the torture and murder carried out. It ended with "I'll gladly pay anyone willing to get rid of the b***h once and for all. Don't worry about the particulars, I don't care if it isn't done humanely, so what if she suffers, just as long as she's gone. I'll even be there to make sure it's done. - NT"

She won't find out, Miranda. I'll create another forwarding address in NT's name that will only forward to our own addresses and not to hers. I'll post from this new address. That way any hate mail will go to us only, and I'll just bounce any that don't specifically mention the nature of her posts lol to her. That is, I'll make sure she gets comments from people saying "You're disgusting!" or "You're sick!" but nothing that says "You should be tossed in jail for wanting to have your mom asulted and brutally murdered!" If admins ban her, I'll only bounce their email to her real address if they say "You have been banned for inappropriate posts" and not if the admin gets specific about the post.

Tonya went ahead with her evil plan and posted really unspeakably sick stuff to several online forums in NT's name. The enraged posts from other forum members replying were a big source of entertainment for her, but then she realized that in order to make NT's online life completely miserable, she would have to frequent some forums NT was more likely to check out and ruin her reputation there as well. She didn't tell Miranda about this idea, the girl was already showing signs of getting too on edge. Tonya didn't have the time or patience to smooth over the feathers of someone too spineless to go along, and she was a bit disappointed in Miranda for wavering just because she wanted to save face.
In the meantime, neither Miranda nor Tonya was aware that Nick had seen several postings from "NT" and had sent her an email about them.

The emails between Miranda and Tonya on the subject stopped after that, but they still kept in touch.
Tonya managed to find a way of possibly contacting Indy next. Indy, being the woman who had put NT's double firmly in her place in the music store.

Tonya supplied a number of other addresses, web sites, and instant messenger usernames for Indy to contact her and NT at, hoping Indy would join with her in harassing NT. The email she gave for contacting NT was also the forwarding address, because Tonya wanted to receive what she hoped to be Indy's kickbutt emails toward NT as well.
Indy didn't intend to write back to Tonya, but she did, unwittingly when she wrote NT, but it wasn't the sort of letter Tonya was hoping she would write.
When Tonya opened her email, she nearly jumped out of her chair with excitement when she saw the header "From: Indianna Who" in her inbox.
But when she read the email, her heart sunk like a rock.

But I don't want to get involved in the game, whatever it is. I strongly disliked what I saw at that store and think whoever acted up that way needed a good spanking, but am not getting involved until I learn the truth about who's really doing what.

Tonya screamed inside her head for an hour. She was once again just fuming! Here she thought she had an ally in Indy, who she wanted to meet, befriend, and get to know in the worst way. She had fantasized over and over again about Indy debasing NT into the ground, then chumming up to Tonya and laughing along with her.
Now, reality came crashing in. This Indy wasn't going to be a pushover like Nick, and what was really infuriating was Indy's saying in so many words that Tonya needed to get a life. That stung!
NT didn't write Indy back. She was hurt and confused by all the hatemail, and had resolved to delete any strange email unless they were from members of email lists she was subscribed to.
She didn't even read Indy's letter, seeing Tonya's name in the subject line, she figured it was probably Miranda or one of hers and Tonya's friends trying to mess with her head. If any stranger was going to get her to spill her guts about how Tonya had treated her in an email, they were mistaken.
But finally, something had to give. She told Ariel and Pippi that she wanted to get off the internet altogether or else have her email address changed, and why. She also told them Tonya admitted to being behind the fakes in her first letter some time after Miranda had moved out.
Pippi took matters into her own hands, and got NT's email address changed.
She also copied NT's email folders to dvd, and got NT a new computer altogether. She didn't want NT to permanently delete the harassing messages, but figured there would be a good chance of that happening if NT kept her old computer.
The reason she did this was so she would have a good case against Tonya later, when that time came.
