Another rant with comments that used to be found here has been deleted. Good thing I saved it. There was plenty I disagreed with in both the entry and in the comments it received, but some points were spot on, especially the part about MLP being a meme.
And one thing it really has going for it is that however much people expressed their dislike of MLP and bronyism, no one fell back on the typical anti-brony troll language and brought up "autism" "cancer" or "gay/fag". Unfortunately, they did use some general rough language, which was edited out.
Some of the commenters agreed with Ryan's post, others, somewhat, still others, who were from the MLP fandom, didn't agree with any of it.

Things I Hate #1: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

My Little Pony. My. flaring. Little. Pony. Is there something inherently wrong with Friendship is Magic? Not really. I gave the show two episodes to see if it impressed me. One was about Applejack being a drug addict and knocking over apples and crap, and the other one was about Rainbow Dash and Applejack having a contest or something to see who is better than the other. Was I impressed? Nope. Was I entertained? Mildly. The show was serviceable for the target fanbase, I get that.
What I still don't get is the real fanbase, those flaring pieces of crap bronies.
I hate them. I really do. If you're a brony, and you're reading this, I hate you. It doesn't matter if you were the coolest guy ever, if you were someone I had the utmost respect for, if you are in your mid-20s and call yourself a brony, I hate you. I despise you. The intensity of my hatred for you is overwhelming, and it's almost too much. It makes me sick to my stomach. If you frequent a forum and have changed your username, avatar, and/or signature to reflect a newfound love for THE PONIES, I hate you.
However, if you're just a passing fan, if you enjoy the series for what it is, and don't flaring shove it down everyone's throats ("OH WHAT, YOUR GOT A PROBLEM WITH ME LIKING THIS SHOW EVEN THOUGH I'M 26 AND IT'S FOR LITTLE GIRLS?"), I probably won't hate you. I'll think "Geez, that nutsack likes that flaring pony show...?" but I'll respect you for keeping it out of my sight, and we could still be friends, although if you were like hanging off of a cliff, and so was one of my other friends that doesn't like this show, I'm sorry, but I'd save him/her instead of you. You knew what you were getting into.
It's a meme. I don't care if you say it's not, it is. I don't care if you legitimately enjoy this show, the fact is, it's a meme. It doesn't matter how widespread it is, how many bronies there are, it doesn't flaring matter. At the end of the day, it's a meme. Not only is it a meme, it's the worst meme in the past 49 years. I would rather get spit-roasted by two unwashed men screaming "IT'S OVER 9000!" than call myself a brony. I don't have to justify why I think it's a meme, though. That's the beauty of this blog, and of my irrational hatreds in general.
Why did this show, of alllll of the shows currently airing, why did this flaring show get a horrible fanbase? Why? I have a good idea. Some guy was like "oh look a show about ponies. I shouldn't be watching this because I am a grown man....OH WAIT I WILL GO AROUND TELLING EVERYONE I WATCH IT LOL LOOK AT ME PLEASE THINK I AM HIP AND IRONIC PLEASE?" Then it spread, and one of the things I hate most was born. That's the origin story of my arch-enemy.
I'm not against people watching cartoons, not at all. I love Adventure Time, Regular Show, Ed Edd n Eddy, and Hey Arnold, to name a few. I'm against people watching a cartoon, then building up a stupid fanbase made of people that are fans just because the show is about ponies and is for people younger than them and it's totally ironic LOLOL XD XD XD. When I go to a forum, I don't use a Princess Bubblegum avatar. I don't call everyone else "adventurers" and get offended when people don't like my show. It's part of my campaign to not make myself aggressively unlikable. You bronies can build a community, just stop infesting my forums. Quit it. Make one thread and stick to it. I don't want to see pony reaction images. I don't want to see pony reaction videos. I don't want to see ponies period, but that's unrealistic, at least for the time being. The pony meme will pass in a few months, and all of you will look back and say "Good flaring gosh, I was such a tool. I'm sorry, Ryan. I really am."
I won't accept your apology, though. I'll still hate you, and I'll always hate ponies.

flare this show, it's so Hamgoddamn boring and overhyped to crap. I don't hate bronies however, I just disrespect anyone who is butthurt over disagreeing that this show sucks. Those bronies lack serious taste if they claim this show to be the best animated series on TV.
I will disagree on your opinion on your thoughts on In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, but I could care less about that.

Umm.. I would have agreed to this, but I'm 11, I'm a girl, and I don't shove MLP down everyone's throat. I watched it on accident and fell in love with it, but the other MLP likers around my community don't I'm sorry you have to live in that kind of community, but I find this quite offensive. Not everyone is stereotypical like this and the part of the cliff, that's just flaring overdoing it. Thinking that you'd let someone else die just because of what they watch, that's stooping to a new low, because someone likes something you dislike, you'll let them fall off a cliff and save someone who likes what you like? That WILL come back and bite you in the butt. Somebody could find this and report that you would gladly let someone die because of a show they watch that you don't like. This could get you in big trouble.

Your opinion is just fine. However, I disagree with the cliff thing. My sister likes MLP, but she's just a passing fan.
If my sister and your friend were hanging off a cliff, and you saved your friend and not my sister, I would punch you so hard that you fell off the cliff.

As much as I tried to respect your opinion here, you weren't just expressing your opinion. That you're saying you hate a specific type of people is a mixed bag because some of the stuff you're saying is mirroring racist talk and stuff like that. Calling people rude names and saying they're worthless because they've watched a few episodes of a TV show and liked them is despicable. I'm fifteen, a girl, and I happen to like mlp. No, I do not have a screen name of Rainbow Dash, and I happen to like a lot of other cartoons and anime, and i don't shove any of that down someone's throat. Just because someone watches a TV show doesn't make them any more stupid or idiotic. Expressing your opinion is one thing. Hating on a fandom and morally discriminating them is another.
