AAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
This - is - AWFUL!
Terminally, irredeemably AWFUL!
When Did Having A Mental Illness Become Cool?
We Need To Stop Romanticizing Mental Illness
🙎Meme: Imagine 2 little girls who you're baby-sitting.♥
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: "Me first!" "No, me! "I got there first!" "No, you didn't, stop being mean!" Urgh.
🙎Meme: Carly: What are those? (pointing to my scars on my wrist)
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: *Rolling eyes and hissing through teeth* Oh, brother! Yet another girl who's going to try wowing me with this "Look at me, you should think I'm so awesome because I survived so much angst stuff because I'm such a fabulous person you should all cry over and then admire endlessly!" thing!
Well, ya know, maybe Carly's curious, so just tell her in private if the story is fit for little kiddy ears, keep it to yourself otherwise. Because I - don't - give - a - crap.
🙎Meme: Me: They're battle scars.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Pfffft, I knew it. *Facepalm*
🙎Meme: Anna: Cool! Can I have some?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: *Disgusted frown* Anna, what kind of sick little twist are you, to think scars are cool? iPads are cool. androids are cool. Scars, which are there because someone got injured, which involves some sort of suffering - are NOT cool! They are particularly creepy if the injuries were self-inflicted! And I suspect they were…Not real "battle scars" at all. Comparing emus to war vets in this way is just - I can't even describe how utterly - AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!
🙎Meme: Me: Please don't ever get some okay? But when you see someone with them like the ones I have on their wrists go hug them. Don't ever make fun of them okay?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, pass the bucket, I'm gonna be sick!
Okay, so what's wrong with this?
Well…
The nameless scarred heroine of this chain letter just told some little kids to go up and randomly hug any stranger they see with scars. What if that stranger was a mobster? Even if they aren't, what if they're just not a huggy person? What if they eventually found out the only reason some little kid just went and glomped them was not because they were an approachable person or because the kid herself just needed a hug at that time, but the kid did it out of pity over their appearance and because some meme told them to? Gah, this is wrong on so many levels!
🙎Meme: As we're walking around Wal Mart
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: *Headdesk!* Another freaking meme making up junk about Walmart! What is it with you meme creeps always skulking around Walmart? There ARE other shops, you know, but you always pick on Walmart!
🙎Meme: with both of them holding my hands, a young girl walks by us.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Well aren't you the cozy clingy little lot? In my experience, little kids are usually far too curious to just stick to the adult like glue! They run ahead, they fall behind, they want this or that, they throw tantrums, they sometimes even get lost. But you and your little girls are tight as can be, and I'm not impressed or convinced by this phoney setup.
🙎Meme: Carly and Anna go and hug her. She hugs these two adorable little girls back.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: BLECK! *Cough choke gag* This sap is making me sick!
Look, this kind of thing doesn't, and shouldn't happen in real life! I suppose you eventually grew up to become the expert on how to learn from our kids, too!
AGH!
Anna said those scars were cool, so she's not so sweet and adorable, and I can't imagine curious Carly just hanging around you like a shadow. At least she might be into everything, you know, the sort of kid you gotta watch closely to make sure she doesn't damage or steal stuff.
Anna, well, she's just creepy. Maybe she's that dealive little six-year-old.
And no I don't care if that random girl had your version of "battle scars!"
🙎Meme: Girl: Why are you hugging me?
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, for screaming out loud!
Any normal person would simply hug the little kid back and maybe just say "Thank you!" and that would be the end of it!
But you're going to keep building on this cheesy drip until somebody, maybe everybody in this sickly sweet story are all in tears. *Rolling eyes* And I'll be looking for a way to put myself into a coma.
🙎Meme: Carly: You have battle scars. *points to her wrists*
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: *Disdainful hiss and disgusted scowl* How stupid. How utterly stupid! I mean really, didn't this sitter even stop to think that maybe she should caution these little kids to keep quiet instead of just running up to every stranger bearing scars and demonstrating their obligated pity??
So Random Girl will do one of two things - either look at the girl as if she had 5 heads, find out what she meant, then feel really self-conscious and maybe even patronized and have a horrible day, resulting in more cuts probably, or she'll do the meme Hallmark Card thing and gush into a teary pool of gratitude that *melodramatic breath in* Somebody CccccccAaaaaaaaaRrrrrrrrrrEeeeeeeeeDdddddd!
🙎Meme: And through her tears she looks up at me and smiles.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Facepalm, headdesk* somebody, shoot me, please! I can't take it any more! I'm - dying! This thing burns! *Picks up anything within reach and throws it all about* AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
🙎Meme: If you don't reblog this...
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: I won't have junked up my blog with this pile of saccharin as if I thought it was something cool, and I won't have potentially driven away readers.
No, this isn't going on my blog, it's ending up here, with no tagging etc.!
🙎Meme: I don't know what I'd do, just reblog it.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: I don't care what you'd do, just as long as you stop replicating this trash, and if you're into cutting yourself, stay the heck away from me! *Recoils, shudders*
Gah! How can anybody fall for this crud? This evil, manipulative, candy-coated glorification or at least adoration of violent acts? Yes, stabbing yourself counts as much as stabbing someone else for being violent.
But then, since some ex-member from the old site originally brought this over from that creepy site Quotev, where fangirls melt over creepy pastas, just, ewwww. So very much no!
BATTLE SCARS Vol. 2.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: ARGH!
🙎♂️Meme: A couple have been together since Middle School.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Bleck! Really, middle school is too young to be a "couple" I really don't like all this child-dating nonsense.
🙎♂️Meme: They grew up, got married, and had a daughter.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: At least not from middle school on anyway, for goodness sakes. Crushes come and go, at that stage in life. And, there are people who don't get into the whole b/gf scene at all in school, but whatever. *Yawn* So let's add a bit of realism to the boring, shall we?
They were best buds since childhood but eventually grew into high school sweet-hearts and went through various off again, on agains until they graduated and eventually got married and had a kid. Yippee…
🙎♂️Meme: Every night, the mother would tell the daughter a story
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Just like what a lot of parents do with their kids at bed time. Only the stories she probably told were chain letters…
🙎♂️Meme: about a tough princess who was made fun of because of some battle scars she had gotten in a battle defending her father's grave.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Yuck! What kid's going to want to hear some story about a princess fighting over her father's grave? Then if it's the same darn story every night, all I can say is, my gosh, the poor kid! Or, this kid is sick if she was the one who wanted to hear it every night.
And, "battle scars" *Scowl* This better not be another emo-worshiping speal or I'm going to hurl and blow my freaking stack!
🙎♂️Meme: The daughter would always ask why, and the mom shrugs and says "No one knows."
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Well that's a stupid sort of story to tell a kid, one that has absolutely no point… The princess isn't actually given any real purpose, nothing to actually fight for, not a battle to save the kingdom. she gets hurt fighting over some grave. Stupid. Surely there would've been people employed to keep grave robbers and other thieves from nicking the royal valuables.
Now if the story had been about the princess finding out one of the guards had been dipping into the till, had a fight, and eventually tossed him in the hoosegow, that would've made a lot more sense. Still doesn't seem like much of a bedtime story to me.
🙎♂️Meme: One day, when the girl was 13, her mom died from a bullet to the head.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Gah, why not just say "Her mom got shot dead" like any normal person would put it?
And what's this got to do with the weird bedtime story business? I mean, if you were going to kill the mom off anyway, you could've skipped that whole lot of jabber about how she and her sweetheart were stuck on each other since middle school, got married, had this kid, red her weird stories, and simply said that a happy family was shattered when the mom died when the girl was 13. And that wouldn't have been a good opener, but this whole thing is rotten anyway.
🙎♂️Meme: At the funeral,
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: *Rolling eyes* Oh, for crying out loud!
I had an aunt who was as delighted by funeral scenes as these drippy meme originators are. It makes me wonder if she's actually started at least some of these. That battle-axe is so morbid that she actually takes a camera to funerals and has snapped pictures of blood on the street when there were accidents. And she did once try to run me down - yes, at a funeral. That's why I refer to her as my aunt in the past tense. I have disowned her as a relative. But the point is, she is morbid, dishonest, plain evil enough to start such chain letters. she would certainly read them with a sick sort of delight, and mangling them would be furthest from her mind.
Let me make this clear, then.
Unlike her, I am not interested in this funeral. I do not enjoy them in real life. I do not want to go to them in stories except when necessary, and occasionally, it is. But you meme originators are so obsessed with it and trying to make your readers cry so they'll be too overcome to resist doing whatever you tell them once you've gotten them to this state.
Well, here's one person who won't play!
🙎♂️Meme: the girl noticed scars on her mothers wrists.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, ruddy - hex!
*Killer scowl, gritting teeth, trying to keep from punching something - anything*
What the blasted heck kind of screwed up trash is this!?
First of all, where were those scars before this time? You're not going to convince me the girl never saw her mother's wrists in all the 13 years of her life. She would've noticed them long before the - dang - funeral!
And if this lady was such an emo, your whole set up where she was so happy joy lovey-dovey with the dude she was so stuck on since middle school, doesn't wash.
You started this whole story like a really unbelievably boring fairy-tale with this silly couple who grew up and got married and had a kid. No mention, at all - about the girl being an unhinged creepy cutter until now.
And with her death being a shot to the head, I would expect a closed casket, so, no viewing, so, no-see any injuries including your all-important 'BATTLE SCARS'!
And why was she shot anyway? Was she in debt to some lone-shark? Was it some drug dealer? Maybe this lady actually had some sort of double-life she kept from her family. With killings, most often, it isn't random, they say. It's usually some bad blood thing. You could've expanded on THAT backstory instead of the stupid scar-princess thing.
🙎♂️Meme: That night, her father came in.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: In from where? Out of the rain? into where? The living room? The kitchen? The house? The church?
🙎♂️Meme: "Daddy, tell me about mom.", the girl asked.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, great, another yuppy/preppy-talking kid… Usually at 13, they've given up the "Mommy" and "Daddy" thing.
And kid, if you didn't know about your mommy when she was alive, it's too late now..
this whole stinking thing just isn't adding up to anything but a huge honking pe-ewww!
🙎♂️Meme: The dad sighed.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: And the smasher face palmed!
🙎♂️Meme: "You mother's father died when she was young,
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, for the love of IOS!
For the love of MS!
of all things internet!
For all things good, even!
Brick-a-brack-a-frick-a-frack-a-blinkin' bleepin' - blasted -
Don't give me that!
The lady couldn't even tell her kid a proper bedtime story. she just wallowed in self-pity over something that happened years and years before, something that doesn't turn people into creepy sick self-mutilating masochists!
🙎♂️Meme: so she started cutting herself.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: *throws up*
Either both parents had somehow managed to keep this whole rotten mess a secret without showing so much as a sign of something being off, or else the daughter was absolutely zoned out oblivious to pretty much everything her entire life. And this just isn't something I can even imagine some father and daughter talking about after some random shooting death - if it was random…
this - *cough* whole STUPID *accented with a stomp* scar princess story was not for the little girl's benefit. It wasn't meant to lull a little kid into a nice peaceful sleep. It was this incredibly self-obsessed mother really telling her little bitty kid a bedtime story all about her poor *expression and tone turns very jeering* wittle self and her sucky life after her daddy died so she jus' couldn't hack it and cut herself over it! it was all "Look at me me me! Can you see me in this princess?" She's so stuck on self-inflicted scars and long-past woes that she laces her little kid's bedtime stories with this poison.
🙎♂️Meme: People made fun of her because of her scars.", her dad said.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, please!
Look, much as you want everybody believing this claptrap claiming everybody "makes fun of" your scar-princesses, it's a lie!
And why in the world would the dad drudge all that up now anyway? All he would've had to tell her was that her mother was a very disturbed person…Period. Not add angst to the grief by saying "Oh BTW, everybody picked on your mom because she had scars…" If he really cared, he'd want to spare his daughter as much upset as possible, you said yourself she was only 13...
There is nothing funny about violent creeps, and I'm not about to give in to your warped idea that we should totally hug and coddle people who go around harming themselves and others - and I'm pretty sure that's where you're heading.
I hate bullying.
But I refuse to join these so-called "anti-bullying" outfits that pretty much try to make me feel bullied into accepting the act of cutting oneself as some kind of normal and that people who do it should be totally doted on, sympathized with and given all the pats on the back for doing something that is utterly downright scary and anything but harmless!
The world is thankfully not made up of only two kinds of people, the cutters and those who make fun of them. You got that!?
I do not fall into either of these two categories!
🙎♂️Meme: When the girl asked why, the father said, "Because no one understood her pain and misery."
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: Oh, brother, "Nobody understands my pain and misery, so I'll just cut myself and bring on much much more of it!" yeah, totally makes sense. NOT!
Anyone can understand that it's sad to lose a dad. So don't hand me that crock of - *biting tongue*
Everybody feels pain and misery, everybody feels misunderstood at some point in life. so there's no acceptable excuse here, and definitely no excuse for the father to spell out all the most ugly angst details to his kid as possible to make her feel even worse about her mother's life. And there's no excuse for that twisted scar princess story either, though it's typical self-centred emo stuff.
If you were hoping to make me gush and feel all full of sympathy, you got the very opposite - I am appalled, disgusted, repulsed, revolted, and supremely ticked off at you who started this nauseating meme, whoever you are, and your entire cast of horrid characters!
🙎♂️Meme: Repost if you respect people who cut/have cut
🧝♀️Ocean Elf:: No reposts here, and I don't "respect" people who cut themselves! if people want my respect, they earn it, by being respectable, and not by seriously creeping me out!
even suicide is somewhat easier to grasp - someone who is so sick of their life and feel there's no way out but to die, aren't thinking rationally and just want it all to be over. and I mean real people, not the meme variety designed to get people sobbing. They want the pain to end, not drag it out.
People who are sadists infuriate and disgust me to no end. Masochists and who self-harm appal and scare the living daylights out of me. I don't make fun, I am literally horrified by the very idea. If they can actually go through with it and cut or otherwise deliberately hurt themselves, there's no telling what they can and might do to someone else. And yes, there are cases where people who "self-harm" as the politically correct put it, can and have hurt, even kill other people. Child killer Beverly Allitt self-harmed.
Girls That Kill (Natasha's story is second on that film.) if they're just doing it for attention, sympathy and because they think it will get them "respect" that's no different from Munchausen's. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if people who have been diagnosed with Munchausen's after hurting or even killing their kids for attention, have histories of cutting themselves first. and you can't get rid of pain by adding more pain.
Plug your ears. I'm going to scream!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!
*Smash smash smash, CRASH!*
