There is no compromise here. Either you are with trolling, or with us. You can't have it both ways.
Trolling is never cool. It is always obnoxious, childish, and low-brow.
A trend on the net that really irks us is people calling it "trolling" when stupidity gets pwned, and they act as if trolling is somehow a good thing.
Stop doing that!
There is no such thing as a brilliant or otherwise praise-worthy troll. If you put some idiot in their place, without being one yourself, you are not trolling. If that's what you call it, that is truly sad and it doesn't show you in a good light. It is self-denigrating, devaluing your own effort or any you're supposed to be getting behind. It also suggests you are not really interested in anything more than getting silly rises out of people.
It will also get you the cold shoulder from the powers that be at MTM, because we will not associate with trolls. Anyone on board with us is expected to have enough of a conscience and brain to know the difference between trolling and true opposition to something bad. Big hint: trolls are a big part of the something bad.
Trolls are scum. They are not a legitimate opposition to injustice. Trolling is bullyish, childish and stupid. It is never smart or admirable.
Trolls Just Want To Have "fun"
If you really did say/do something impressive or just had to laugh off some ludicrous annoying activists with a bit of good humor such as the way Jimmy's Seafood Restaurant handled Peta's trolling stupidity, never call it trolling!
The real troll is Peta, and anyone who jumped on their bandwagon against the restaurant.
MTM™ Peta Page shows animal activists trolling. They even troll one another. Also, there are ways of reacting to them, some are cool, but others are troll.
Liberal troll Christopher Blair and his many hoax/satire sites and memes, Marco Chackon and Melissa Pimdars, are trolls/hoaxers. They are liberals who thrive on lulz at the expense of conservatives they can get falling for their memes. In addition, Pimdars censors the kinds of material she wants her students reading, she would rather they sourced The Onion than an actual source that is non-left.
A word about the joke excuse:
We will not champion deliberately&truly offensive or flat out plain stupid speech, hoaxing, or other trolling here. We will not be bullied into accepting any of that crap by "CENSORSHIP!" whiners screaming for "FREE SPEECH!" All freedoms can be abused, and that includes speech. If you can't handle that, move along, you won't be missed. But 4chan would be glad to have you.
The "It is/was just a joke!" excuse is nothing but a typical troll cop-out. It will never make something stupid or offensive to a normal, decent person acceptable or any less stupid.
Humor holds nothing sacred, so humour itself is not sacred.
That means if a joke sucks, anyone has the right to ridicule the heck out of it.
If your "joke" bombed, too bad for you; nobody forced you to make it...That was your choice, your fault, your problem, it is entirely on you. Troll cry-babies are as thin-skinned and annoying as the rest of the SJW.
