This Islamic meme is another concerning prayer, and for once, it isn't a list of punishments or tale of a doomed afterlife.
👳♂️Establish Salah
by Shahinur Rahman
👳♂️Shahinur Rahman: Many people make the common mistake of only performing Salah, whereas what they should be doing is establishing Salah. In order to establish Salah, you must focus on three things:
1. Know that Allah Ta’ala is watching you.
This will help increase your concentration and devotion, and help you keep the correct intentions.
2. Know what you are doing.
e.g. qiyam, ruku’, sajda, jalsah etc. This too will help increase concentration and prevent forgetfulness.
3: Know what you are saying.
You should try your best to understand the Glorious Qur’an in the original Arabic language. If this is not possible then you should try to understand it in your mother tongue e.g. English, Urdu etc.
🧝♀️Ocean Elf: I'd go with understanding in your own language. No good trying to pray or worship in a language you don't use, since that would actually take away from the experience.
👳♂️ Reciting the words of Allah ta’ala with meaning will help you communicate with Him.
🧝♀️ Which only goes to show that it's best to use a language you are most comfortable with.
👳♂️ You should also bear in mind that recitation of the Qur’an is required in Salah, which means the tongue and lips should move and it should be audible to the reciter.
🧝♀️ And suppose someone either can't speak or is just really self-conscious about their own voice? That would take away from the experience too.
👳♂️ Merely imagining the words of Qur’an flowing in the mind is not sufficient.
🧝♀️ It is to God, and should be to anyone who prays. Otherwise, it seems that either worship or Allah himself is weak. Allah might require recitations, but God asks for sincerity, whether you recite something or just think.
Over and out.
